I'm not doubting you or your source, but one of those pictures is most definitely NOT from March 9, 1964. The top picture clearly shows 1966 models in QC.

Maybe we are reading much into past reveal history by Ford. This is the internet age with new marketing tools and Ford can do what ever they wish as far as reveal date or/and production date.

Look at the customers waiting for F150-EV and new Broncos given the current supply chain and chip issues. If you want these new products you will have to wait and Ford will make sure you stay waiting until they can deliver by little incentives each month for the waiting orders.

They have the customer hooked as there is minimal or no competition for those products. The Mach 1 and GT500 products show that price is no object if high demand is there! By limiting production you create demand for the product and hold the price high. The CEO knows all the tricks.

I'm realu sorry about that, I might have mixed up the original March 1964 photos or some silly journalist probably just used them as a substitute of some sort and I took the bait.

I saw 1966 for certain somewhere via reverse image search and almost hesitated, but it wasn't labeled for these set. Thank you.

No offense meant, but I hope they never put an Eco V6 in a Mustang. You could always build your own though!

No V8 no Mustang. There are better options on the market if I wanted a turbo 6.

Easy. I would NEVER buy a mustang that's not a V8. I don't care how many horsepowers it has.

I'll be out when that happens. I MIGHT be open to an Auto - but only cause I'm old now - and they have teh A-10.

Yes, no V8, no Mustang. 2018 was the first Mustang that I really wanted. I will not buy a Mustang without a thumping V8. Zero interest. Not with a V6EB, not with a 1000HP AWD electric drivetrain.

Why? Ford already offers the mustang with an Ecoboost 4 cyl and most fans are fine with it. If Ford made the base engine something like the 2.7 instead with 350-400 hp that would be awesome. It would be far more powerful while still be affordable and reliable, without stepping on the 5.0's toes as long as ford continued to upgrade the 5.0.
