Many "dealer" people know less than Joe Public on forums and with resources beyond. My salesman didn't know that the order banks were open, and disputed it with me back in May when I ordered. So.....grain of salt

Logic would tell one that Ford is not going to make thousands of cars with the same defect, or whatever the issue may be or have been on the line.. Those problems get ironed out in the early limited runs. Looks to me like they have a TON of them sitting at FRAP. I HIGHLY doubt that these are defective cars.
This is also true. I tried ordering from my closest dealer back in May and they said order banks weren't open.

They then called me this week and told me that order banks were finally open starting this week. I told them I placed an order at a different dealer months ago lol

Sounds like those we have dealt with should not be in that profession..

My local dealer also noted to September for the OKTB date so it seems to match what yours said.

See. When they do a recall, they recall a hundred thousand of cars with the same defect. Ford or any company will never be perfect on the production line. They don't have the time for that. Ford is just trying to minimize the recalls this time since they had a lot lately. The ton of them sitting on the FRAP will have to go through a quality check before getting shipped. And if such cars have any issue, they will be dealt with manually sometimes.

Despite what Dealers and Specialists say, I don't think it's always about quality and issues. Sometimes it's about internal politics and numbers. Like when they think that the 3rd quarter is already good, but they need to boost the last quarter so they can look good on papers and to impress the shareholders.

Things right now looks a lot like the S550. So, a lot of things are pointing towards September. They'll probably need some weeks to release to OKTB, then some weeks for Shipping.

The wait continues. I just know that they keep releasing videos of different s650 specs to keep us all interested. However, I just wish they would communicate with the buyers more. But I understand if they don't since it's a new model and can't afford to release too much info that could scare buyers away 😅. Gotta break these cars in fast to enjoy them before winter kicks in.

So all the cars sitting there have more than 3 quality issues? I find that hard to believe

I think the dealer employee is wrong. I've heard they have to go 3 days in a row without defects/issues (or without a certain amount or severity?) to reach OKTB. The majority of those cars are probably defect free, or minor enough to not even be noticable or impact value.

it all depends on what Ford considers a "quality control defect", could be major noticeable things like panel misalignment or it could be something less noticeable like paint imperfections or a small tear in the leather.
they already shut down the lines once for QC issues and they probably did some QC work over the FRAP break last week and are just waiting for this weeks builds to re-verify their fixes. Honestly, considering just how many people are saying that they got scheduled earlier than predicted this week tells me one of two things
either A: whatever they did worked and they are confident to ramp up production
or
B: they are quietly shitting themselves and maximizing productivity in preparation for the UAW negotiations

personally i never planned to see my car before late August so its just interesting to see how this turns out

Any way, we shouldn't discuss the shipping thing any more till the tracker is updated to "Built". Because as of now I think we're all still in "production" category.

Any of you got updated to "Built" yet ?

S650 Mustang Delivery starts tomorrow!! (says Ford Chat) Ford Vehicle Order Tracking Status — Mozilla Firefox 7_12_2023 3_36_33 PM

so mine hasn't changed to "built" however it has a date of 10 July under "in production" my window sticker had its blend date as 22 June and, from what ive read in other Ford forums, the 10 July date is the day its actually done production, however it wont show as built until is moved to be staged for shipping.

That's exaxtly what I meant. We shouldn't get excited, and discuss shipping till we see the "Built" update. Mine has the date of 7/11 under "In Production" with a 6/22 blend date. And yes Ford Chat confirmed to me today that the car is produced and built on 7/11. However, unless I see the "Built" status on the tracker, I won't have high expectations about the delivery.

Mine is scheduled for 08/04... crossing fingers of a build and delivery before any strike possibility.

I am aware of this LOL. And I truly do not believe that all those cars we saw in the drone videos are gonna go back into the plant for any additional work or QC. They are finished cars, waiting for final OKTB. On that note, find the gas FORD.

you should be fine, it was a 10-12 day turnaround for my car to go from blend date to produced (accounting for FRAP being closed last week). so if you blend before mid August you should be fine

One thing that makes no sense to me on the whole "3 days of production without issue for OKTB" Why hold on to completed inventory? If some of those cars needed remediation for QC issues, fine hold them and fix it. But I see no reason to hold the other vehicles if it's for those type of QC issues.

Design or regulatory defects, whole different story, but that would not have a 3 day error free rule either.
