Anyone here use the 10 speed on the track? Is it worthy? I am wanting to get a dark horse 10 speed for track days but I'm questioning the auto. I've read the programming is better from the S550, but is it close to the performance in the GT500 DCT? I would mainly be using paddles. After experiencing a GT500 on the track, it has me looking at the Dark Horse. Thanks!

The A10 is not a DCT, so you're not going to get DCT performance out of it. Second, you can't program (I assume you mean tune) the S650 yet - will probably be at least 1-2 years before we'll be able to do that. Thank Ford in their infinite wisdom.

I know its not a DCT, I am just wondering if it will be usable on the track? Does it shift when i tell it to or have a mind of its own? Does it have glitches when it gets hot? The programming I'm referring to is the updated calibration for the A10 for S650.

Everything about this car needs cooling. A10 included.
The Darkhorse seems to add some cooling, but not enough for actual track focused driving.

Maybe @SteedaTech has some input on what cooling options we have for a track focused A10 GT

At the Dark Horse track day we were doing 20 minute sessions and I never got any warnings and we pushed those cars hard. The only thing they changed on the cars for that is brake fluid and a diff cooler. Take that for what you will.

The A10 is definitely faster than the manual but it still seems true automatics cannot hold up to the heat of track use.
A friend of mine is extremely fast with his S550 A10 but he's also on his 3rd or 4th trans and that's with a giant aftermarket trans cooler.

The manuals can hold up to the heat and you get auto rev match so the hardest part of manual shifting is already taken care of. Can't go wrong with rev-match manuals, in my book.
