If my Ford Dealer has never ordered/sold a Dark Horse or A Mustang with a handling package how can they be getting a no allocation message when they try to order one? Confused here. Looking for enlightment

DH allocations are like the lottery... not all ford dealers will get one, and the DH ones are handled a bit differently than standard GTs. I think the allocations depend more on what they have sold and not what they haven't sold. Contact another dealer is all you can do.

Ford allocations, any model, are based on previous sales. Dealers that have sold few Mustangs, while they could get an allocation, are often at a lower priority than those who have sold more Mustangs. Ford's allocation process ensures virtually everyone gets access to a model, while favoring the dealers that sell those models well. Securing a DH w/HP allocation versus a GT or Eco build would make it a bit harder still.

Options...

- Ask the salesperson to discuss the matter with the supporting regional manager. The regional rep parses out the allocations

- Shop around to other dealers, other states, that sell more Mustangs or has an allocation, unsold. Some buyers secure exactly what they're looking for, then travel to take receipt or have the vehicle shipped to their home (to closest dealer or via private shipper)

- Consider having your dealer buy or trade for an allocation from another dealer. Several variables in this. Some dealers work really hard for their customers, make a trade or do something with inventories. A key factor is how big a customer you've been to this dealer previously

I'd start with the first option, while looking at maps and dealers for option 2. If the first doesn't pan out, move on to two, do inventory searches and cold calls to see what comes about

Have there been any actual 2025 Dark Horse HP cars spotted in the wilds yet, or maybe better put anybody actually have one? I obviously know there are non-HP DHs being delivered but wasn’t sure about the HP cars. That’s kinda why I grabbed ā€˜24s when I found them, being impatient and not knowing if and when ā€˜25s would be available. Well that and close to 10 grand difference between price increase and extra discount. Just seemed to make sense.

They haven't made any yet.

I was thinking this was the case.

I acknowledge that confirmation bias is a real thing but I’m glad I went ahead with ā€˜24s. And I’m a very poor waiter, no patience at all.

Same car, less $.
