When I purchased my ecoboost premium with bronze package, the sales guy expressed that the tire packages put together by the parts department would fit my vehicle. They had two options, both on 17" rims. So today I called to make a purchase. The parts guy took my vin and said he'd look into it. I called back later and he said that the 17s wouldn't work. I feel this is odd as like I said in the title, I have no brembos. Is there something I'm missing here? I'm admittedly newer to this so there very well could be something I'm not understanding. I called another place and they said they may be able to put me on 18s.

The difference in price is 2200 (CAD) for the original set I was going to get, to now 3800 for a 19" set. It is a significant upgrade on tires (Michelin x-ice), but still!!

Anyone able to weigh in? I'd like to make the purchase soon. I'll suck it up if need be lol!

nonsense. the base EcoBoost (100A with no options) has 17" diameter wheels. parts department guys are most likely to have no idea what they're talking about

That's what I thought. It makes no sense to me. Like I said, I don't have brembos. I didn't know if maybe the rotors were bigger and pushed things out.

Just makes no sense to me.
