I wonder if we'll see pants sold with faraday pockets. :p
Maybe, but here in the great free state of GA we prefer holster pockets. Seems to be a good workable compromise.

It’s an interesting situation when advanced tech introduces more issues and takes less effort than the old fashioned key switch.
Ahhh, you touched a nerve for me with that “old fashioned” thing. In a good way I should say!

My situation is a little different in that my Mustangs are toys, not DDs. About the only place I leave them is to go in somewhere for a meal or coffee, etc. So I don’t even bother to lock them or put the top up on the vert. I make a habit of sitting where I can see outside to my car, and figure I can get to the door of said restaurant if need be and solve the problem before it escalates.

I know it seems like a silly question.

But I have a 2024 GT Premium. Which has the welcome lights dance and the car unlocks when you get near.
Which led to me think since it has proximity unlock, it must also have walk-away autolock.

However, I have walked away and the car does not lock itself. My $22k 2019 Civic had walk away auto lock. How can this $55k premium trim not?

I am reaching out here in case it is buried in the settings somewhere and I need to activate it and must have missed it?

You guys with Premiums, how do you lock your vehicles, considering it has proximity unlock feature?
In my case when I park in my garage I don't lock it. However my road co pilot is a large European Doberman he sits in the back seat so when I park I don't lock it but if I do I use the key fob.

In Europe we have the added advantage that when you look the car the mirrors autofold as a visual clue the car is locked.
A few American cars do as well. My wife's 2020 Lincoln Continental does.

You can enable WALAF aka walk away lock audible feedback (independent of WAL).

The horn will sound once when you reach ~13 feet away and it locks your doors.
Excellent,
I always thought I left a key in the car 🚙?
I always use the key fob anyway, but that’s interesting to know.
thank you

Top-down or not, I always lock my car with the door handle. I also carry a very small Beretta just in case of an unforeseen emergency.
