How long a wait if you order today?

My dealer did not require a deposit. They had no problem if I didn’t want it when it came in because they could make more off the sale. The only other times I’ve ordered vehicles were BMWs. Those required a $1,000 deposit, but it was refundable at any time, even after the car was delivered.

If the dealer is giving a great deal on the car, then I could see paying a non-refundable deposit, but if it is just an average price, I wouldn’t agree to it being non-refundable. There are just too many dealers out there who will order with a refundable deposit or no deposit at all.

The dealer mentioned they would need a $1,000 deposit but I did not ask if it was refundable at the time since I wasn't ready to order. This is an x-plan sale so same price wherever I go. I'll make sure it's refundable before ordering. Thanks for the feedback.

I put down a $1000 deposit, but it was not charged; I suppose each dealership has their own requirements for orders. Personal audit of my credit card listed no deduction which was confirmed at the time of delivery and purchase.

I think it somewhat comes down to dumb luck. Mine seems to have been one of the faster deliveries from all the comments I’ve seen. I placed my order 6/21, VIN assigned 6/22, delivered to the dealership 8/30. GT Premium, Race Red, 401a, PP, Magneride, Active Exhaust.

The averages appear to be around 3-4 months (without NPP) from hearing all the timelines on deliveries. Night Pony Package seems to make the wait even longer.

I ordered NPP, but it's a convertible. I still pay the same but don't have to wait. I find the less I think about how Ford prices options the better I sleep. I'm either lucky or good because my 2017 BMW 440 convertible sold last week, and looks like another few weeks for the Mustang to travel 60 miles North and I'll be right back to my usual overcrowded garage state.

Ordered 11/10 of 2023. Gt premium PP manual. Black. Priority Code 03. Top for dealer. Dealer has allotment. Still no production date after 6 plus months. Dealer inquires and knows nothing. Ford chat and marketing can only confirm a clean unscheduled order. No progress for over 6 months.
