I was trying to install Steeda jacking rails on my 24 GT, and one of the front bolts on the drivers side was very hard to get out. I believe it was cross threaded from the factory. I watched an install video and it referenced that he had seen cars where they were just missing one or both of those bolts, Does any one know what exactly those bolts secure? I was unable to get that bolt back in. I did get one of the shorter Steeda supplied bolts in but Iā€™m not sure how functional it is. The front bolt is secure. Any help would be appreciated

Are you able to get the factory bolt back in? I just did mine and they were tight, but didn't have any issues.

No Iā€™m sure I could have forced it but it was way tighter than all the others coming out and I made a little metal trying to get the factory bolt back in so I stopped I was able to get one of the small ones in there and torque it to 45 so I just left it alone.

As the unibody and later vehicle structure traverses the assembly line, it's placed on a rotating carriage, allowing for 360-degree spins. The bolts connect the car to the carriage.

At the given moment (not to soon! :giggle:), the car is disconnected from the carriage. The bolts are considered a one-time piece (safety), are threaded back into and left with the unibody.

The factory bolts can be left out.
