Metal Shavings in the Diff

At 700 miles I had my mechanic do the first oil change and had him pull the fill plugs on the gearbox and diff to check the levels. Both where good on fluid level but he put his pinky in the hole on the diff and it came out with minute shavings. The fill plug also had some metal on it. I know the pinion and ring gear are meshing and there is going to some break in shavings. The question is how much metal is to much?

As long as you are not getting any noise you should be ok. If the gears were not setup propely you would have way more metal.
