Hey All,

I know some of you might’ve done better. But this is my first time driving in snow with “all seasons”. Was fun and little scary at same time cos of no traction and car was drifting. Thankfully the roads were closed so no oncoming traffic. Waiting on the winter tires!!!

Looks like fun, but it might be time for some Blizzaks! 😉

Thanks for the video.

I normally don't drive our Mustang when we have ice or snow on the roads. Mainly, because it's rear wheel drive, and the amount of salt on our roads and highways.

Anytime we have slippery conditions, I ask my wife if I can take her vehicle, which has all-wheel drive, and most of the time she lets me. The exception being when I've done something to really make her mad.

Totally agree with you. Did the same last winter as I had 4x4 then. But now this is my daily driver. Gotta take it to wash next day after such snow drives hoping to remove all that salt/chemicals that they put on roads.

All seasons on my s550 didn’t help at all lol. Cold temps ok but any type of snow on the ground it was like i was on ice.

IKR 😅 my s550 ecoboost had similar issue on snow. But thankfully s650 all season n traction control is much better.

Did you happen to have it in slippery mode at all? I'm in MI so we get our fair share of snow but thankfully I work from home so I only venture out in the Winter when I have to and then I beg my wife to take her AWD Suv, lol. I heard some say the Mustang isn't too bad in the winter and other's have said it's horrible so not sure who to believe. I do know that I've heard snow tires do make a huge difference but I've never had any experience with them. What about adding some weight in the trunk (maybe a few bags of salt)? Maybe the added weight would help?

It was in slippery mode all the time. We had about 5-6 inches(or more) of snow that day. I just wouldn’t recommend anyone driving Mustang with all season on roads where we have traffic and this much snow. Since that road was closed I tried it. But on way back home it was drifting real crazy through out cos traction was off. Sand bags wouldn’t help much in this situation I guess. Maybe winter tires will. Just my 2 cents.

If you can afford it I would recommend getting a beater with a heater. Something cheap with front wheel drive and keep the Mustang for nice weather!

I live in SE Michigan and drive my Mustang year round. I used to drive from Port Huron to downtown Detroit with a supercharged 2006 Mustang on all season tires. Never had a problem. RWD isn't really that difficult to drive in the winter. It's easier on snow tires and I've been using those the last 3 years.

And as far as putting weight in the trunk, never found any need for it in my Mustang. Second, you know that if you do happen to slide into a ditch, that weight isn't going to just sit there. It keeps moving and comes through the fold down seats right into you.

When I got my license FWD wasn't prevalent (Olds Toronado was about the only one around) and other than Jeep and some pick ups, 4WD wasn't prevalent either. We didn't put the cars away and break out the horse and sleigh - we drove the RWD cars and learned how to handle them in snow.

Glad to hear someone who's had success driving their Mustang(s) in the snow. So I would assume that when you do drive in the snow your in slippery mode (or perhaps not)? I believe the other poster indicated that in slippery mode the traction control is off in the Mustang? This is good knowledge for me as I can try out a few different settings, etc when the snow does start to fly.

@ListedGuru just to clarify I said I had slippery mode on through out my drive and traction was on in beginning. But after a while traction got off automatically and couldn’t be turned back on. Mostly cos of snow getting accumulated not sure. I should’ve mentioned it clearly earlier. Hope it’s clear now 😊
