Hi all,

24’ base GT with Steeda Dual Rates/adjustable struts. Maximum Motorsports camber plates.

I am encountering persistent groan, and even an occasional pop, in the front end during low speed turns. Solid as a rock while driving or encountering bumps. Aligned properly and maintaining alignment values.

I went back and replaced the top hat/lower isolator (gee whiz: the Ford replacements I received seem significantly more sturdy than what came with the car). The originals were a little beaten up - I can’t cite exactly “what” I did incorrectly but I’ll take responsibility for the first round.
The second round was meticulous, torqued, and even vetted by the shop during alignment (trustworthy/experienced eyes). Links, arms, etc all torqued and re-torqued. Initially things were promising but within 10-20 miles, began experiencing additional groan.

I would consider the setup “settled” at this point.

Has anyone encountered this on the S650? I would consider the issue outside of “typical,” even for a lowered vehicle.

Thanks for any insight.

Is it only when you turn the steering wheel from lock to lock?

I had this in my 2021 GT and it was the Steeda springs. One of them was a little shorter than it should have been so the top was banging on a full left hand turn.

Steeda.ca (not to be confused with Steeda USA) worked with Steeda USA, identified the issue and resolve it by sending up a replacement spring.

It occurs even with mild inputs. There was a separate “hiccup” with the order that contained these springs, so it’s possible something is off in that regard. Everything seemed to line up well, though. I’ll be tearing into it again when time allows and will assess for shifting and take some measurements on the springs. Thanks for the tip!
