Just pulled into the East Gilbert Lowe’s parking lot preparing park my Mustang in the south 40 like I always do. That’s when I saw the perfect place to park. Under what little shade that AZ.has to offer I saw a beautiful gray GT 350. So I pulled and parked next it. I knew the right side of my car was safe. Unfortunately the GT 350 was gone when I came out 15 minutes later.

Many don't realize many of the trees here spew sap. Some will wash off when washed but some will require a clay. Its been hot here so many trees are stressed. In the spring when they bud it can be bad also. I never park under trees. At car shows I have seen people park under untrimmed palm trees that can shed a palm. My sister had one fall at her house and put a hole thru her roof. Just like a sword.

Taking your GT350 to Lowes. In a state with a Mexican border.

Bold move.

We are all border states.
Sort of true since we lack practical border enforcement, but, states close to cartels operating in Mexico have bounties placed on vehicles by the cartels, so thieves in accessible areas will go for high profit models, get them to a ‘safe’ location and scoot them over the border with different tags. Once they’re across the border, they’re gone for good.

Some places, not mentioning any names like San Antonio, because I’m not one to drop names, won’t do anything other than provide a phone report, take the VIN to make an insurance claim and enter the VIN as stolen. That’s it.

If your location is within 6 hours of Mexico, thieves are getting paid by Mexican thugs to bring vehicles in your area across the border. What your area’s law enforcement does about this determines how bad the thefts are. Places with law enforcement that actually goes after thieves, have less trouble with this manner of crime than places who just throw their hands up in surrender.

Here are some auto theft stats from Jan to Sept 2023 stats here in AZ. I think it might be relatively safe to take your GT350 shopping at the local store.
