Good bye warranty.

funny Ford would respond good job when they are denying warranties on the S550 for HPDE events

I would imagine the same would apply to S650 owners

For the Mach 1s
They have 18 pages in owners manual about how to track your car

then later on hidden in manual they state any evidence of vehicle being used on a track voids the warranty

It doesn’t void the warranty. It says damage caused by track use is not covered. Thats a big difference.

Yes- but there is a thread right now where a guys transmission went out- and they are saying because they could find evidence that the vehicle had been on a track at some point at an HPDE event- they are denying the warranty ..... even though the transmission failed on the street ....

It went to arbitration- it was claimed because the car was driven in a high performance manner at some point- that this voided the warranty on the transmission

There are a ton of very upset people right now- so just want to make sure to spread the news....

I am sure they will still cover if the radio goes out- or a power window stops working-

But if you want to track your car- I probably wouldnt post about it on here- and if something does break- I would make sure that any evidence of ever being on the track is removed....

Well, that kinda makes sense they wouldn't cover a power train issue. Why exactly are people mad and who are these mad people? It was either tracked or not. Where it was when it finally failed is not relevant. ²

What's the point of buying a car with a track package that does have no warranty if you use it for what it was build ? With todays GPS / blackboxes they know where the car has been ! I can see if you put it in the kitty litter or fry your brakes/clutch there is no warranty but engine/trans should be covered for if not 5/60 then at least 3/36...Might as well buy a used beater and pay as you play if Ford has no confidence that the stuff does not break if you use it for what is was build for...Especially where only a small percentage of owners actually go to the track...Not good advertisement if it is true that they deny warranty coverage no matter where you were...Reminds me of the Throttle House episode where they had a Mach 1 but Ford said they were not allowed to do a fast lap on track...In the end they took chances and used by private owners car to lap it on track...I guess Ford was afraid because auto motor und sport fast lap the Mach 1 was only 0.1 sec faster than a regular GT...But that is just my guess !
