First, yes I did read the manual. It does not specify.
When you go into track mode, you immediately get the traction/Stability control light. However, if you press the physical traction control button, it will say traction control enabled. So what actually gets disabled in track mode?
I would love to get the throttle response of track in the sport mode where you can still use all the features.

in track mode, traction control is turned off, stability control is made more passive, magneride is made more stiff, pre-collision assist is disabled, throttle response is more aggressive than normal, but less sensitive and more linear than sport, and the steering is supposedly changed in some way. overall, there is a reason why the dash says "off-road use only" when in track mode

From the manual:

TRACK

For high-performance track
driving. This mode increases
throttle response and adjusts the
transmissions shift schedule to both hold
lower gears longer for faster acceleration
and downshift more aggressively under
braking. Traction and Stability Control
intervention is reduced and tuned
specifically for track usage. If equipped,
the adaptive dampers are optimized for
transient handling maneuvers and active
exhaust is opened to take on a more
powerful tone. Additionally, steering is
switched to its Sport setting for enhanced
connectivity and driver feedback. Use this
mode for on-road courses, auto-cross style
events, and on-road closed circuit track
driving.
Note: This mode is for track use only and
is not intended for public roads. Automatic
Emergency Braking and Brake Over
Accelerator systems are disabled.

So the light would just indicate stability control is more passive, even with traction control enabled?

So, based on the above information, would the A10 transmission be "faster" in downshifts and upshifts in TRACK mode compared to Sport mode?

Personally I’ve always felt the sport mode to be the most aggressive other than the drag shift mode hard shifts at WOT.
The increased reaction of sport mode is nice but would like to have the gradual linear throttle inputs from track

Same. I usually use custom mode to go sport by default with the track tach and track exhaust.

The throttle in track mode starts off too soft. Maybe it’s meant for pit lane or feathering drifting?

I’m betting the programming is very similar to the Raptor Baja mode - you can never really disable the nannies, you just reduce their intervention to Ford’s acceptable minimums.

I‘m betting you’re correct. Even in track mode you can feel my A10 car pull either timing or fuel at the slightest sign of wheelspin on the max throttle 1-2 and 2-3 upshifts. I hate when it does that.

Ford, despite some snarky oversights... does do their homework. The Lightning - the real one, not the electric F150 had an ignition cut in the shift to keep the driveline shock down - and you didn’t get that satisfying wheel spin when you shifted. I miss that truck...

The 10R80 is a really decent transmission that could’ve been programmed a little bit better. My Rap has the first year 10R80 and I like it. There have been some programming complaints though, including from me. When i first bought it, she would refuse to downshift from an exit ramp to interstate merge - about 40-?? it would stay in 10th gear and try to boost its way forward in normal mode (really eco mode in the Rap). I got revised programming and that made a world of difference, but it took 3 visits to actually get it.

They’ve probably done this to preserve the transmission under ... extreme, shall we say operating conditions. So it may not be like we want it, but it’s probably there for a reason... Or it could be purely traction related but again, probably there to keep us out of the ditch, literally and figuratively.
