Gotta say I’m pretty impressed with the looks and build quality of their cold air intakes. Haven’t driven it enough to form an opinion on performance gains but I gotta say it turned out great!

Seems to need the piping from the metal piping from the air box to the throttle assemblies would heat up quicker, plus the air boxes look open topped and would draw heat from the engine compartment. Just what it looks like.

I guess the hood of the car is hypothetically the top of the box to close it in more

Yea. After a while you'll likely be able to see those rubber seals on the top edges of your air boxes have developed a permanent flat spot where they contact the under side of your hood. My Focus RS came with a K & N CAI courtesy of a previous owner and the box was VERY similar to the ones in your kit.

Those intake tubes really look killer! 👍

There won't be any noticeable P gains. Have used K&N on auto and marine high Hp builds but no difference - even on dyno. IMO they are a pita. You have to maintain them religiously or they can actually harm the engines. You might hear a bit of intake draw sound but that doesn't equate to HP gain. If I were to buy any aftermarket unit - for looks not HP - I'd wait for the new Corsa units that are coming soon.

I believe the same, aluminum is a heat conductor, absorbs heat quickly but can dispel heat quickly too. I'd prefer the filters draw air from below vs above.

This issue (heat exchange) is a very complex one. We buy these 'tubes' to increase airflow especially at high flow rates. The question remains... "Do they?" We assume less turbulence in the plenum due in part to the smoother surface, but surface (smoothness) alone doesn't directly relate to turbulence or lack of it. All of this is directly related to fluid dynamics, and other than dyno results, I'd be very surprised to learn any other (real) science is used in designing them.

Looks nice but same performance results by ripping out carbon traps and installing Steeda high flow filters

At least you don’t buy a new air filter every time you have service performed.

Looks cool astheticly. But that definitely seems like a "hot air" intake to me.

Would be nice if they did something like this for the Whipple and Roush. In an assortment of colors and chrome and black chrome. But not so much chrome. Not much under the hood is chrome anyway.

LOL. You just lost your warranty and some horsepower. Good job. For anyone else if you buy the high flow air filters alone you will gain more HP and save money.
