Dead serious, what if someone made an EV with a proper manual transmission? Instead of direct drive to the wheels, hook the motor to a flywheel like an ICE drivetrain.
Similar thoughts have crossed my mind. But I'm afraid I can't give you an answer any more definite than an electric motor/MT combination being closer to something I might be able to live with than any other EV configuration I've heard.

The devil absolutely would lie in the details.

Your loss
Not really. Like I said, if you can't put any effort into describing what's in the video, that tells me that it's likely to not be a valuable enough thing - valuable to me - to spend any time watching.

Never mind that I'd much rather read text at my reading pace than try to listen to somebody yammer on and on at theirs. Keep in mind that it's been over 50 years since I last sat in lecture hall.

Closed captioning is a useful feature of most Youtube how-to videos. I often turn down the sound and read along, pausing the playback where necessary to see which menu item the instructor is clicking on the Photoshop toolbar, and so forth.

And sorry, it's just a lot more helpful to see how a guy uses a pry tool on a decklid panel, what kind of pressure and angle and so forth pulls it loose, than to read a couple of sentences of "this may be difficult, it may be useful to have someone help you," etc. etc.

A basic useful principle of teaching: Show, don't tell, then let the student do.

Jeez, I don't think I've had five dollars of paper money in my pocket for more than an hour in the last six months. What's not delivery is contactless these days. Neither I nor cashiers need to be handing stuff back and forth to one another in the grocery line or at the service station right now - especially since for them that's probably a hundred transactions or so in a shift.

Think we're gonna see the end of cash a lot sooner than ICE cars are gonna disappear off the roads.

I'm afraid you do lose out by deliberately refusing to watch a video without an explanation in advance. Have I ever posted a link to anything dangerous or unsuitable to you? No

Again your loss (whether you realise or not)

The thing is electric motors remove the need for a gearbox in the traditional sense so you are only adding it to make it more like an ICE car rather than it being a real benefit. Adding moving parts for no reason. That is why nobody makes them !
But it will make Mik, Norm, & Richard happy. :giggle:
