Yes it does come with the light ring
The RGB wires you will have to get it from a S550 cupholder .
Awesome! I’ll be checking my local salvage locations tomorrow for the wiring, worse case scenario I’ll go to my dealer and order it. Thanks again for taking the time to help us out with something Ford should not have undone. 😂

Dh emblem and/or Gt? Should rotate one though. Passenger and driver not both driver. Gotta give the occupant fair warning.

One final question...does the cup holder require two plugs, one to power each ring? I talked to the dealer today, the parts guy didn't have a clue.

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum . I thought I could share this with you all.

This is for anyone interested in adding a cupholder with ambient light to their mustang .
I did this to my mustang Darkhorse couple weeks ago .
Parts needed :
Cupholder from a Lincoln corsair (LJ7Z-7813562-BA)
, also a wire light from a 2016 mustang . There is a place in SC that sells mustang parts . So I bought from them a center console from a 2016 mustang gt for 50 bucks since they are close to me.
I only used the wires , since they are RGB
Lifgts. Connection It was really simple red ,blue green and orange (power).
I tapped the wires under the driver foot ambient light and it worked great.
Here are some pictures , the cupholder fits almost 100%., with some minor trims to make it fit . The cupholder from the Lincoln has an angle , so make sure to install the angle the opposite way from the angle of the center console in the mustang for a proper fit.

First , You have to remove both sides of the leather panel , in order to remove the center console . Then remove the two screws on both sides of the center console. Remove the screws from the drift shift . Remove the shift cover , the bottom cover( two clips)and the knob.
With a removal trim tool , carefully start removing the console from the storage box.
Then , once you are close to the shift , it has two clips with a flat head screws , carefully release one side and lift the shift cover, and then release the other side . Bingo , you have removed the center console .
It took me 4 hours to do this. And around 150 bucks.
But i think the results are worthy 😁

Where and how do the wires plug into the new cupholder? I see on the s550 it has actual plugs but on the Lincoln it just has 2 circles different connections

What’s are the harness part numbers?
The main harness is FR3B 14E078, the wire assembly is WPT-977, it plugs into the main harness and gives you your four wire pigtail

The way I see it, a plug and play kit would include a 3 way harness coming out of the right floor LED (input from BCM, output to cup holder and connector to floor LED) and a harness to the cup holder. I would probably need two male connectors and a female connector to make the harness. I’d also need wiring. The connectors are pretty expensive too. I can probably make it, but it would take me some time.

It would probably cost me around $60-$100 to make the harness. With the cupholders, I’ll probably end up selling them for $300 a piece.

Actually I think with two of these, the female connector and some spare wiring, I can make the harness. It’ll be difficult though. If anybody can provide me the three components, and ship them to me, I’ll make you the harness. You can then test it out, let me know how it works, and if it makes the installation easier, ill sell some kits.
