With summer here the ‘24s are no doubt winding down a bit and I was wondering what might be expected trying to buy a new GT at this point. Are there deals to be had out there?

Our dealership is discounting, even the California Special convertibe that we got a few weeks ago. Everything we have is a GT right now, for some reason the Ecoboosts are thin on the ground around here,

At one point we had about 20 between our 2 dealerships. We're down to 4, 2 at each. Only discounting 1 of them because it's been here a while. 59k convertible, taking 4k off. Hadn't paid much attention, until the dimples in rear bumper post. Went outside to look and only had 2 to look at (both have the dimples).

Pretty flexible, kinda depends on what strikes my fancy when I see it.

Is that going to make a difference on the deal on a GT?

Thanks but I’m way too impatient to deal with an auction. When I get in a mood like this I’m usually talking about today or tomorrow. Plus all the whackjob posters on BAT who chime in for no reason make me crazy. And I don’t like the uncertainty of a used car so I’m pretty much relegated to new car dealers.

All the dealers suck! Advertising x plan price that you don’t qualify for. Then hit you at 9.9% with a 860 credit score. they offer 5-10k less then they would have to pay at a dealer auction or even carvana trade value!!
tell them your paying cash without a trade and they don’t want to sell you the car? Wtf

The interest rate isn't entirely out of their control when it comes to convincing someone to accept a higher rate. They're happy to sell on lower monthly payments with extended terms and higher rates...like 9% for 72-96 months. Make customer happy with payment, and some won't care about anything else. Know your credit score, know the rates your bank or credit union is offering, what your trade is worth, and pay attention to prices paid. Know your all-in, out-the-door price, what you want to pay, and stick with it.

Prices vary somewhat regionally based upon inventory and sales. Montana might not see as many Mustang sales per capita as, say, Southern Cal.

Ford has some good incentive rates, currently. Prices are anywhere from $2K to $4K under MSRP hereabouts.

Don't know where you guys are seeing this but most East Coast dealers start at about 10% off (6k for loaded GT's) with up to 12-15% occasionally. Ford credit is 1.9, 2.9 or 3.9 depending on the term you want.

I just traded in my loaded GT premium with MSRP of $54.5. They have it listed at $46.5 and I’m certain they’d take less. Sure it’s not new (9,500 miles) but it has tint, ceramic coating and factory warranty. There are definitely some good deals out there.
