Yeah because it isn't currently the case for '24 models or the last couple decades.

It’s too soon to even know if it’s going to work though. That whole company is on the brink of bankruptcy again banking on that car. Charger also historically went through a lot of changes and got axed at one point.

It's like Ford wants to just sell F150's and Mustang's with 15 variants of each so everyone can say they drive a sportscar or a truck.
Still waiting for a variant with the 1.5L 3 cylinder and the tried and true CVT. The Ultimate Performance Vehicle...of fuel economy. 😝🤯😖

...this is a joke if it wasn't obvious.

Just kill the name already. Slapping mustang on everything with wheels; CUV, e-bike, now sedans and probably a wagon at some point. Lame. A mustang shouldn't be a family car or for going to Lowes. @#$%. Doesn't make it any better that Porsche, Lamborghini, and Ferrari did it too...they were equally lame in catering to posers. I won't buy another mustang...guess it is time to shift to Corvette until they do something equally stupid.

What you call posers, I call creating a viable business case. It's odd to complain about merchandising like the latest e-bike thing. That's not really any different than putting the mustang name and logo on a shirt or coffee mug. The mustang isn't a cup, or piece of clothing either, but expanding branding into those areas over the last few decades has only served to make the mustang more iconic.

I don't see a mustang hat and say "Putting a car logo on a hat ruins the brand because it's selling something other than the car itself". That's how these brands make their money man. I'd rather live in a world where the V8 mustang exists alongside the mach-e, over a world where the mustang doesn't exist at all. I don't get killing off a badass car just because they're turning it into a sub-brand.

Corvette is working on an SUV right now. Guess you can't buy a mustang, Corvette, Lamborghini, Porsche, charger, or Ferrari. So what will you buy? Lol

Btw, I think the Corvette SUV is further along than the four door mustang.

Trust me, if that new Charger doesn't work out for them, it's not because they sell a four door/two door variant. Its because it's horrendous to look at and there's no V8.

You can say they shouldn't develop a mustang with four doors, but to say they shouldn't call it a mustang is ridiculous.

If it looks just like a mustang, has the same engine and transmission as a mustang, has the performance of a mustang, and has four doors... It's a four door mustang.

If this makes it where Ford can keep developing and putting resources into performance cars then it's good for everyone.

Yeah they should use Dodge’s tactics for the Mustang. Lol

You mean removing manual transmission, V8 engine, and making it ugly?

That's exactly what Ford didn't do. Not only does ford want to keep manual performance v8s, they want to make more of them. And people complain 🤦🏼‍♂️
