I guess I just feel that for $50k and above you should at least get decent fitment of panels and interior materials. Maybe I ask too much.
Average price of new cars today is around 48K, so spending 50K ain't that big of a deal anymore and you will probably not get the quality or finish you want. Even the price of a DH, you're not gonna get the fit and finish that you'd expect...these cars are mass made, hence not the best quality of workmanship. That's why it's so important to do a thorough inspection of your car upon purchase. Not to your standards, don't buy it or get dealer to correct it.

As mentioned before mass production actually should make things better. The quality of the Ford cars coming out of the factory in Europe is very good so as a company they know how to do it. Pretty sure the European cars go through a secondary QC process when they arrive over here. My S550 was pretty good and I'm still waiting for my S650. The only UK S650 I have seen so far looked very good from the pictures.

As much as I loved my S550, I ended up selling it and I ordered an M2 and a new S650. The M2 came early while finally the S650 is being delivered. I ended up with the M2 for the extra $4k in price vs. the S650 I ordered. The build quality is in another league vs. the Mustang. The only thing I am missing now is the sound of the V8. The M2 doesn't sound bad, its just not a Coyote.

I bought my S550 sight unseen from a dealership showroom floor in AB and had it shipped to Toronto. I was very fortunate in that the quality was perfect; for a Mustang. Nothing compares to the experience I had with Mercedes (both AMG and standard C class).

For delivery of my Dark Horse tomorrow I will be doing a rather extensive look see before I drive it off the lot. First to make sure they installed (or did not install) the things that I asked about in the PDI and then to make sure there is nothing that needs fixing or adjusting.
