Yes I do - I drive one with stop start! So do Ferrari, Porsche drivers etc etc My son has 911 with stop start.

If you mod the car then so be it, but most vehicles are not modified globally (not just talking about Mustangs)

It is CO2 not CO that matters (very different gasses) and the US contribution is huge and ongoing. Again data is easily available for historical and ongoing contributions - no need to guess or assume. US politics don't interest me and are not appropriate to discuss on this forum.

I believe in global warming.....

I mean historically it must have been all of our cars polluting that warmed up the Earth bringing an end to the ice age 12,000 years ago- I blame the end of the ice age on internal combustion vehicles....

I know some of you flat earthers probably think the car was invented in 1900....
I mean we had to have internal combustion back then right?- I mean how else did the Earth get warmer and the ice age end?

Volcanoes biggest contributor to earth warming. All the other stuff a small spec. Keep everyone drinking the Kool-Aid make money for the elite. We still should do what we can within reason.

I'll take the blank button every time.
I keep thinking that there has to be a way to utilize that button for a custom feature.

Mine has S/S but it has never worked. I think I read that one of the current recalls is for a flash of a module that re-enables the system. The conditions under which it activates are limited and I am rarely under those conditions. When I am stopped, it's usually with the clutch pushed in already in 1st and the AC is running. But, I still push the Start button first, then the S/S kill button, then turn up the music every time I get in. Nothing to it. It will never shut off while I own it unless I ask it to.
Luckily, having the button and not the blank is not only aesthetically pleasing, it also saved me the $1000 gas guzzlers tax at purchase.

I remember to turn it off the first time it shuts down at a light.

That's very hard to do. The blank button is not a real button but it's part of a whole unit. Behind all the buttons you'll find 1 chip that knows where you press it. To utilize that button you need to program that chip, which is almost zero chance to do so.

Make small tag saying seat eject.
I was thinking more like a small coffee cup sticker, you know, for "Cars & Coffee Mode."

Bottom line is most engine wear is on startup oil pressure dropping to 0. 10 times per drive!. There is no way in hell that's good for your engine, starter, or battery. I am protecting my investment over a dollar in gas.
That has NOTHING to do with auto stop/start.

Agree to disagree
You're still wrong. The wear on startup has to do with oil draining down after engine is off for a period of time. When you are stopped for brief moments, all the surfaces are still lubricated.

It's not MY data!

I gave you one link in the previous post but more below just a random sample from 30 seconds of searching.

There are literally hundreds of research papers from all over the world demonstrating the benefits of stop start systems and fuel savings. The systems have been widely in use for 25 years or more so extensive data is available both on the fuel savings and reliability data.

Seven years with it on my F150. It takes a little getting used to, but once you do, it is not a big deal. If you don’t spend a lot of time in stop and go situations, it is insignificant. When you have to wait, it works fine.

I have a 2024 and it never worked. Ford tried to fix it but they said it’s a computer recall and they don’t have a fix for it yet. I kinda like not having it.

@Gregs24 if you are contributing to a discussion regarding Co or CO2 in the context of climate change, vehicular and gas usage you are already in a political discussion - like it or not. The stop/start/idling technology does not account for surge dynamics of the system at start -up or with modified idling, which therefore greatly reduces the CO and CO2 reduction efficacy - or the longer term damages to the vehicles from gas dilution and constant stop/start cycles. The USA can not continue to allow certain groups to bankrupt it and its industrial base due to utterly false claims by EPA embracing, virtue signaling, green apostles. The $ 3 trillion cost is paralytic to the American economy and will have no measurable effect on CO or CO2 reduction when compared to the massive output by the non-signatories.
