You do like the sound of your own voice don't you!

Keeps slinging insults (not sure why you feel that is acceptable) and then suggests it is I that was insulting you

A bit of advice, people with a different view to you are entitled to that view in a country with free speech like the UK. Insulting people for holding a view different to your own doesn't look big or clever it just demonstrates your intolerance and insecurities.

Always stay started is an inconvenient setting that should be an optional eco mode that also maintains the preferred setting, persistently.

Anyone who says they drive an 8 cylinder sports car but need AS/S to help 'save gas' chose the wrong car and the wrong career path.
It's not only about saving money on gas Some of us are responsible about trying to save the planet and reducing CO2.

I know you will probably say that having a V8 is not the car to get, but considering that in the city with the lights and everything else, your car is probably at idle 40 to 50% of the time.

Yes, it was in jest...but you have to admit that adding a "start stop system" to a performance vehicle doesn't really make sense...I doubt seriously that anyone with a GT is worried about gas mileage, right?
It's a performance vehicle that is used for different purposes. People that use this car as a daily driver and on normal roads might like the start stop.

Aint gonna do it with an ev. Start stop saves an average of 1 mpg and yet better management of traffic signals saves more.

Indeed the evidence and data is there. As I have pointed out over and over if people want to turn it off then fine, but the evidence proves the value of stop start. Of course some on here can't help themselves with puerile insults over and over again to anybody who holds a contrary opinion to their own.

The bearings are supported by a pressurized film of oil so that there is no metal to metal during operation. If the oil system had an electric pump maintaining that pressure when the ASS was activated then I would agree the wear to bearing surfaces could be minimal. How long do you think the oil pressure is maintained without an electric oil pump? Probably less than a second or two. It is completely logical to assume that there will be increased bearing wear with an ASS without an electric oil pump.

The manufacturers care nothing for problems that occur out of warranty. Any accelerated wear from the thousands of non-pressureized starts would certainly be discovered after the warranty expires.

Just because the "data" says it's fine does not make it true. I remember when doctors told heart patients to use margarine instead of butter because it was more "heart healthy". I remember when They changed the narrative from "global warming to "climate change" because it stoped warming. I remember when the words "safe" and "effective" were used to describe the deadliest and least effective vaccine in history. They were so confident in that POS that they ruined the lives of people who refused to take it. This is why we do not trust "data" from the elites.

Excuse us for not buying into "the sky is falling" global warming inspired, auto stop start horseshit.
