I just happened to notice this icon in the bottom right of the instrument cluster yesterday. I don't think I've ever seen it before. This was right after starting the engine. I had not manually turned off the start/stop at that point. Does anyone know why this would appear? I assume it indicates the system has automatically disabled it for some reason?

No. That actually (should), always be there on startup. That indicates auto start stop is enabled and you did not shut it off via switch yet. Once you switch it to off, that will completely go away

Yes, in your case the ASS system was disabled because the car wasn't warmed up yet.

It's actually a start/stop light with a line through it indicating that's it is off or disabled.

Interesting! Always assumed stop start is on unless it’s overridden. I’m gonna test that out today and see

Because I know if you manually disable it, that goes away

If left to the vehicle's own programming, whether is actives after warm up is based on several factors, not the least of which is the condition of the battery. The algorithm (basis of operation) is explained in the manual.

An icon with a diagonal stripe means disabled not enabled.

Yeah. Just noticed that. I never noticed because I always disabled it. The second I turned the car on so for some reason, I just assumed that that meant it’s enabled but I tested it today cause I was curious and yes you are right, once the car started and it fully warmed up even with the start stop system on you don’t see an icon similar to when it’s off.
