Has anyone had success pinstriping (self-adhesive) the stock side skirts/splitter/rear bumper? I'd like to try that out, but don't know if striping will adhere to the stippled surface. Maybe some Primer 94? Photo attached to show what I'm after... I did this with red electrical tape just to get an idea of what it might look like.

Finding someone to do striping (paint of vinyl) correctly isn't always an easy task. We have a couple of detail shops here in Roswell, NM, but neither one is as up to snuff as SoCal was during the 70s. I guess the art has finally fizzled out. Nonetheless, I'll always miss RatFink and company!

Do you have your heart set on (removable) tape stripes? Seems like a fairly simple process to tape, surface prep with an adhesion promoter, then rattle can that rascal with the color of your choice.

Downsides: NOT a good time of the year to be painting **** in Canada (barring a well heated garage), and a painted stripe might not be as easy to repair (rock/road grit chips) or remove as a tape tripe.

Good luck with whatever you go with! đź‘Ť

Yes, anything other than tape stripes are beyond my capabilities at the moment.

I did it to mine use the vinyl stuff. I’m going to redo mine I did it with the reflective tape and it’s coming off already. However it looks sick

Looks great! Did you do any surface prep or use an adhesion promoter?

I only wiped it down with isopropyl alcohol. I should have used adhesion promoter. However it’s also cold here right now. Going to replace it again in the summer to see if that helps. I’m also going to use vinyl instead of pvc.
