I believe that is the NA model, unless I'm missing something. GT350, not GT350R

Brother, I just want to know the price of the naturally aspirated version. Whether it's the 350 or 350R, the line with $110k refers to the supercharged version. I read in another article that that was the price for the 350R but could just be the supercharged 350 version.

Looks awesome, over in 6g the joke is… “the gt350 finally gets a reliable engine “

I always said the s550 350s would’ve been better with the 10R80… now they get all of that and supercharged!

Purists should love it, as it’s the original Shelby way!
FoMoCo Shelby fans seem to hate it..

I love the grill… when reps ??

I’m sure yolo will be whining about this.. should be hilarious tonight

I personally dont hate it- just forced induction = GT500 to me

And yes the orginal GT350s (at least from 1966 onwards) were offered with automatics - so not mad about that - from a drag racing perspective- I mean the 10 speed is an awesome transmission -

I would say its not hate- its just confusion as the supercharged version is very similar to the Super Snake ...

it is a good looking car though.....

But I mean - Predator + DCT seems like it would be better then Coyote and A10 for drag racing as a starting point?

No. Unless you plan on putting a 3.8 whipple and ID1700s with a full fuel system… then yes.. but if you’re not gonna do all that… 5.0/A10

It’s ironic to me because of how the Shelby brand is everywhere as far as a lineup goes. With this car technically this GT350 is a 4th generation car, with the 3rd gen Ford Performance car being the outlier (but the best with full manufacturer r&d and so on).

350R is going to be like $200k

1. Why does everyone hate Shelby wanting to modify an existing GT? They did that originally with the AC.
2. Does anyone think Ford introduced the Dark Horse, without a long range plan to eliminate Shelby?

apologies, "my dude". it sucks that Shelby didn't put a voodoo engine in this to replace the coyote. But from the press release and the product pages, they are releasing this as an inferior version to the super snake, which has the exact same motor and supercharger on it. so it sucks that there really isn't that much differentiation between these two products, just suspension changes YMMV
It’s because Shelby America is just a tuning company. They’re not building any engines they take what Ford is offering and since Ford isn’t offering any Voodoos anymore they can’t put them into the GT350.

so its a Super Snake without the widebody and down 20hp? this seems really pointless, honestly. im sure its gonna cannibalize any potential sales of a Super Snake that were hesitant about dropping $160k. now for $50k less they can get basically the same thing. does Shelby know how to do trim levels and pricing?

I think most people, myself included, don’t really like their absolutely overpriced products. Adding the fact that most of their products aren’t ‘built to last’ but tend to literally tear themselves apart I don’t see many reasons why anyone should buy their products from a subjective point of view. The Ford Performance Shelbys on the other hand are beloved because they offered unique engines, great design and were priced the way a Mustang should be priced.

Shelby American cars get registered as Shelby. Not Ford. That technicality takes them beyond tuner status from a legal standpoint. I don’t agree all their cars are bad value. Some are, but I would actually say the new Super Snake is much better value than the prior model. There is a 45min video somewhere where they go into what they do to make that car. It’s not trivial. The new GT350/R? I’d agree that seems like less value mostly because there are many features in the s650 that I don’t want to begin with (almost all electronics) plus raw inflation on top of increased cost due to emissions equipment and testing. S550 GT500 is much better value. Everything is less value than it used to be…assuming you have the historical perspective to reference against.

There was no NA version announced, just SC'ed. I do not think there will be one. there are other Shelby's if you want NA.

EDIT: Never mind, there was a 480 HP mentioned. I'm thinking $15/20K for the SC, so $90/95K for the NA. Still way above the DH. But it's a Shelby if that is important to you.

Apples and oranges. Ford Shelby's, the GT350 and GT500 were limited production special editions. The Dark Horse is a standard line model following the GT. We do not have any clue what Ford is doing with the Shelby nameplate. There was early talk of another GT500 but who knows.
