2025 gt premium performance package manual vapor blue night pony package
I was born in 1958 and cars I can remember start in 1964. It was a golden age. The young guys in my neighborhood had cars that are worth millions of dollars now, and custom builds, then the early 70s we got the Mustang 2 , the early 70s cars were basically crap, but not all, I thought the powerful V8 was done, but Mustang brought it back. I am so impressed with my car. I haven’t owned an American car since 1987 and I love driving this car ,my profile states 2025 Mustang GT premium performance package vapor blue night pony package transmission is manual, I would have looked at a Corvette, but I didn’t want an automatic no fun in that, rowing gears is therapy unless your racing.. and the Mustang is the last one standing, that’s why I bought it.

I was a few years ahead of you.
One of the guys I went to High School with had a 1965 Dodge 426 Hemi.
It didn’t take very long for him to loose it.
I grew up with the Fords, 390, 406,427,428,& 429.
Chevy had the 327. Which could be build to if I’m correct to nearly 400 H. P. , 350, 396, 427 & 454.
Dodge & Plymouth had the 392 Hemi, 426 Hemi, 383, 413, 440.
Pontiac had the 389 GTO & 400.
I know I missed some but this was before the major fuel injection.
I worked with a guy that had a 1962 Corvette. It came with Fuel Injection but he sold the fuel injection.
I also remember when I worked at courtesy Ford they had a 1966 Red Aluminum Body Shelby Corbra.
The Window Sticker was $10,000.
Now their worth a Million or Two.
It was a lot of money when you could buy a Mustang for less than $3,000.
Sorry to Ramble

I was born in 61. A 1955 Chevy was my playpen. My mother had a 56 Pontiac which my uncle drove off a cliff. People say the car is still there. I had a 63 Impala SS. M y girlfriend had a 63 Impala SS with a 409. My last regular everyday American car was a 1969 Impala SS with a 429 430 horsepower engine fully loaded. I sold my 69 Nova with a special crate 427 small block for more than I imagined it was worth. This got my daughter a beautiful shiny atlas blue 24 GT, and a down payment for my brothers GT, which he will soon get. Might as well form a Mustang Club.

So just wondering, what brand 429/430 did your 1969 Impala SS come with?

Chevrolet. Which factory I have no idea. They had three big blocks available for that year Impala. 396 two barrel, a 427, and a 427 with 430 horsepower. Thing was a monster with its Chery Bomb glasspacks. I have no idea where it went. Sold it and never seen it again. I've never seen another 69 Impala SS since.

Those 427 Chevy‘s and 427 Ford even the 426 hemi never had 425 horse. All three advertised 425 Horse Power!
They were all over 500 🐎 power. Way over.
But , because their teenagers Kids would drive their cars the Ford , Chevy & Dodge lied about the horsepower.
It’s probably still one of the biggest secrets in Automobile 🚗 History!

I‘m thinking the bigger secret might have been that 429/430 Chevy.

You may have me on that one.
I’ve never heard of the 429 or 430 Chevy.
I know Ford of course had the 429 and 430. I believe the 430s was in their Lincoln Continental.
touché.

My owners manual said 430 horses. They had a 307, 350 two barrel, 4 barrel, 396 two barrel, 427 slightly under 400 horses, and my 427 was supposed to be 430 as per the owners manual. Tell you what, I do think they lied. I could hardly beat 350 4 barrel 69s around town, especially in cornering. On the freeway their cars would shrink in the rear view. Torque was phenomenal. I'd floor it and people in the car would rise off their seats. But my crate 427 in my Nova definitely ad well over 430 horses. The old days and big powerful cars are over.

427 is a big block Chevy. The predecessor of the 454. I believe the last year it was manufactured is 1970 maybe. 430 is the HP, not c.i., the marketers at Chevrolet stated the model I had made. There's probably many engines from Chevy people have not heard of.
