SO, is the S650 PCM locked or not?

One other thing that I've been looking into - the S650 shares a lot of the same architecture and components from the S550. I'm curious if removing the 650 computer and replacing with a 550 module would be a viable solution with a known vector for mods.
Like how the BMW’s are cloning theirs?

Won't work. The whole system has to be there and working.

Can you say more? Like how many components are needed that aren't already on the S650? Or are we talking check-sum values that keep an older S550 computer from interacting with S650 sensors and relays? Could I flash the entire system?
To summarize: I get that it will be more than a weekend project, but is it "IMPOSSIBLE" or just DIFFICULT? Or has it never been tried and no one really knows but the suspicion is that it won't work?

One way to look at the difference is to assume certain parts making up the system use 'drivers' which are specific to any given device. Change the device, and a different driver is needed. And I'll guarantee the needed drivers aren't online!

It's been talked about more in other threads. Basically you would have to trick the car into thinking the S550 ECU is the S650 ECU, everything has to be signed blah blah

Nobody's done it yet so that says a lot
