But is there a scientifically/engineering reason on why the mt-82 can handle boost better than the tr 3160? I understand the points you referenced, but there has to be a mechanical reason on why that is for a transmission bogged down by a crappy clutch/flywheel.
how would the MT-82 be able to hold more power than the tr-3160 if the mt-82 has been prone to lockout, occasional grind, and all sorts of problems from it not being mounted to the body? Shouldn't the Tremec on paper be more durable against additional power?
I can attest to that. My Camry was in the shop due to getting rear-ended, so my rental was a turbo crossover. It seemed way faster with very little input from the accelerator whereas when I sped in my actual car, it took more effort to do so. Granted my vehicle is NA with lower torque output...
