The GT is an awesome and very capable car for street and some track use (if you modify it, can be a very capable track car).
The DH is an even more capable car for aggressive track use (wide tires, camber plates, upgraded internals, upgraded suspension tuning, magneride, crazy aerodynamics for...
Have you gotten your alignment check? Mine was totally off from factory and the car would jump around weirdly on the road. A proper alignment was a night and day difference.
I know there are a ton of 10R80 transmission cooling threads so not looking to repeat anything but I can't find any info specifically on the trans cooling assembly for the Dark Horse. Does anyone know if the trans cooler is oil to air cooling or is there a heat exchanger for coolant to oil by...
Just wanted to share a few things that I have learned through trial and error with my DH purchase. It's the first vehicle I have ever bought new and I bought it off the lot. Here's a couple of things that I have learned so far that hopefully might be able to save someone else the headache of...
1. Handling package
2. Brembo stopping ability
3. Overall driving feel
4. Acceleration. Feels significantly faster than my 2015 Mustang GT
5. Active exhaust modes- track mode is awesome
6. Blue ember colour
7. Overall design with the aggressive front grille and I personally like the black...
Curious if anyone knows the specific technical differences of the two cars other than the obvious hp, coyote gen ones?
Seems like the cooler placement is different (M1 has two on the lower grilles whereas DH has one on the driver side and one under car); DH has better brakes, DH has forged...
I also find an alignment improves steering feel/response- these cars love negative camber. Agree that the S650 feels a bit lighter in the steering but more confidence inspiring out of corners. Turn-in feels accurate as well.
My dealer didn't allow test drives on the DH either. They had a fully loaded demo GT that they were letting prospective buyers take out instead to get the feel of the S650. Seemed like a reasonable compromise as they don't want km on the odometer of the DH.
It's a 10-speed because the intent was to have it as a dedicated track car. Regretting not getting the manual now. The shifts also start to thud as it gets hot.
I previously had a 2015 GT non-performance pack (also an auto) that had some aftermarket mods for the track (trans cooler, bigger...
Took my Dark Horse to the third event this season and got a transmission oil warning light plus the car briefly went into limp mode around lap 8 of the first session. Has anyone else had this happen with a 2024? Very surprised as the air temp was around 57F and I thought the Dark Horse was meant...
Does anyone know if this works? I tried to set it but the Traction Control Off light was still displayed. Don't know if this is a software glitch or if it's actually not possible to have TC on in Track mode.
Thanks! I'm just curious if I can run them at the track at all or if I'll immediately have to swap to G-Loc brakes. My friend has the Camaro track package and they come with decent brake pads for the track (lasted him about half a season before he had to switch). Was curious if the DH was the same.
Bought mine with the HP as for me, it wasn't worth the upgrade otherwise. I plan to track it 10-15 times a year, possibly more. Previous car started life as a base GT and traded it in as half a GT350/half a PP. Very interested to see how the DH HP compares.
My 2015 GT started life as a base model and when I traded it in, it was half GT350, half performance pack. I ordered the DH with a Handling Pack. I would not have gone with it if it was not going to be a dedicated track car.
My understanding is it comes with the wheels, more aero, upgraded...
Mine is going to be mostly a dedicated track car. Should head out to the track for the first event in March/April. My previous car was a modified for the track 2015 Mustang GT. Looking forward to seeing what the DH can do and how it compares.
