Bottomline is, if you care about your hard earned money being well spent… get a GT or GT premium.
I care about my hard earned money being well spent, and I got a DH.

Not enough benefits to justify the DH over GT premium.
Subjective opinion duly noted. Others will disagree with you.

The public usually can't tell the difference. Unless they see the badges saying what the car is.
The enthusiasts can tell the difference.
I've told that to people a dozen times around here, yet some don't seem to understand that the vast majority of people who buy Mustangs don't have a clue when it comes to the various options and option packages. MOST Mustang buyers will NOT be here or on some other discussion forum complaining about having to press a button to disable auto stop/start or conversing about the merits of steering feel.

In the Mustang's defense, I do know quite a few morons who bought Camaros, so ... :like:

You said in your first post that you paid just short of $49K for your non-nanny GT base model.

I paid $68K for my DH Premium (and $8K of that was the DH wasn't eligible for AZ Plan pricing).

That's $19K, not $30K.
You got a great price, $10k less than what I was seeing around here. When I got my GT last year it was tough to get a DH without paying ADM. So my $30k number was conservative last December when I took delivery. I don't see any DHs at dealerships around here ( Central Florida ) so I think it would still be hard to get one.

Having driven new fully decked out 24' GT and then my DH back to back

58k vs 68k - First off 10k more for the DH (before the price hikes for the new models)

DH - Tremec is like butter. Suspension feels better..not by much tbh but better. Stock exhaust tone sounds better IMO. Style. Power...cant notice much diff.

The GT is the better bang for the buck but with any car....BMW, Audi etc etc had a few BTW...it always comes down to how much your are going to pay for the little extras that will usually cost 10k-25k for the performance/style upgrade.

It doesn't make sense b/c usually folks cant justify the cost or dont have the money.

Nothing negative...I cant justify a GTD..... It doesn't make sense b/c i cannot afford it.... :)

The P-Zero's I had were not my favourite tire, and felt greasy a lot of the time. I switched to Michelin PS4S and am a lot happier with them so far.
This is exactly what I am thinking of doing. I wanted to have a street rim/tire combo so that the stance is the same but nobody makes a 10.5 front rim that I can see. I may end up taking the Trofeo off and putting the Pilot Sport 4S on the handling pack wheels.

Here's your differences. These lap times are all set by Thomas Holland of Throttle House, who is actually a very talented driver.

It's worth noting the S650 PP is noticeably slower than even the S550 PP. The performance pack options that came on the last generation Mustang are more aggressive than the 2024+. The S650 Dark Horse can hang with a BMW M5CS (around this track, at least) which is a notoriously capable performance sedan.

For all of us 'normies' that probably will never track their car, the 2024 GT is great when compared to the DH. The only real difference would be the preference of MagnaRide, exterior styling, and most definitely the better 6MT if you opt for that route. You can also quite easily modify the S650 suspension, wheels, & tires to slightly close the gap.
why was the Gt500 so slow?

C&D has it seven seconds ahead of the dark horse on the Lightning lap.

Throttle House is entertaining but I don't take them too seriously.

Are there different degrees based upon how many one may or may not have been or not an owner of? x2 of same gen is extra … but spread out over time is ….?

is it the tires, transmission, or the 14hp that’s worth 4+ seconds?

I'm new to owning a mustang. I got the DH because of the stronger connecting rods from factory, and it had the 3 option packs I wanted as standard, and none of the dealers in town for the month or so I was shopping, had those options (B&O, Magneride, Active Exhaust)

I am less than happy with the steering feel in the S650, also the car pitches weird when I load it up in a corner or when braking at high speed. Car doesn't have the underbody strakes installed so I hope that fixes it.

The P-Zero's I had were not my favourite tire, and felt greasy a lot of the time. I switched to Michelin PS4S and am a lot happier with them so far.
Have you gotten your alignment check? Mine was totally off from factory and the car would jump around weirdly on the road. A proper alignment was a night and day difference.

This is something I instructed my dealer to do as part of PDI inspection. I put a list of stuff together that I want them to do and that I will check after was done.

The type of track makes all the difference in how cars stack up against each other. Tracks with long straightaways are going to benefit high horsepower vehicles, whereas tracks with lots of turns and heavy braking are going to benefit a lighter more nimble vehicle. That's why vehicles' track times don't fall in the same order as horsepower or power/weight ratio numbers.
