Changed the oil this weekend...10 qts Royal Purple HPS (High Performance Street) along with Fram XG10575 Oil Filter. And yes, I changed the oil life setting.

Lots of 7mm screws to remove to get to the filter but it didn't take long at all. I learned from a YT poster to cover the old filter with the open end of a plastic bag to remove the filter and not spill any oil on anything.

I just dropped the $130 dollars for my first oil change at the dealership when I was at around 1,500 miles. I know I could do it and I also know it can be done cheaper, but I wanted assurance that it was done right. I plan on doing it again at 5,000 miles and have the tires rotated. I may take the car to Firestone and get the lifetime rotation and balance which includes an alignment. I did that with my Jeep. I always had to have the alignment done when I was done off-roading. I'm around 3,300 miles now.

Been changing my own oil for 45 years and tried the bag trick for the first time and it leaked down the outside if the bag and then onto my wrist and part of the cars framework. Had great access with th car up on my lift too. As I turned the filter the bag did not stay close enough to the housing. I have always used a piece of tinfoil to cover what ever I might make a mess on and will not be doing the bag trick in the future. Glad it worked for you.

I plan on keeping our 2024 GT Premium.
I purchased the Maintenance plan & the Extended Warranty.
It was an extra $2100.
I get something like 30 or 32 Oil changes.
I do 4 per year.
It also includes at no extra charge to me.
Windshield wipers, in cabin Air Filters, Brakes & of course Oil Filters & 10 qts of oil per oil change.
Free tire Rotation.
I do that at every Oil Change.
The extended warranty may be worth $2100?
I betting something will go wrong.
They’re betting nothing will go wrong.
I know there Pro’s & Con’s.

My 1000 mile change at the dealer was $89.95

I asked if they put all 10 quarts in and the service advisor said yes.

I could not do an oil change at my shop using a Ford filter and 10 Quarts of the right oil for that amount, and I am talking my cost, not retail.

I can't beat that price

Now that was in NH, the car is now in FL, with about 3200 miles on it, I don't think I am going to hit 5000 before I go home in late April, so it might be next fall before I get it changed at the dealer here, but when they did an oil change on my now gone 2007 GT Premium Ragtop at 12000 miles it was under $40 and they added the whale snot limited slip additive as the car was not happy doing slow tight corners when it was hot. The gear oil was put in the car in 2007, so by August of 2022 the LS additive was toast.
