Wonder if they'd run cylinder leak down test on request. I don't have faith in my small town dealer for any sort of invasive procedure but that might ease your mind, or point in the right direction.

Yea idk, they probably try to avoid taking engine apart due to ā€œtoo much work.ā€ For me the dealer had to ā€œsee for themselvesā€ in order to determine what to do, even though I sent videos.

So far sounds like you are having the same experience I had with my local dealer. They had my car for 5 days and could not duplicate the same amount a smoke I showed them in the video and sent me away. I believe they did a compression check on my car and passed. How long has your car been there so far?

3 days because Service don’t work in New Year. 1st day they said they test the AFR and everything is normal. Today they will let me know about the white smoke video I sent them. If your car passed the compression then maybe it really is normal. Monitor the AFR, oil temp, coolant and oil level etc. My car running 13.8 - 14.1 AFR consistently.

have them start and idle the car for 10 minutes and shut down. Wait at least 4 hours and restart. If I were a betting man, I’d wager they’d get the steam blow off previously seen. I don’t think it will be blue.

But, if you do get blue, not white ā€˜smoke’, they’ve got some work to do.

Yes and what about if it’s white smoke like the video I posted? Would there be a concern as well? It never happened to me before, my 370z doesn’t do it and our family SUV doesn’t do it.

Then in all likelihood it’s just condensation burning off, creating a steam cloud. The ecoboost F150’s are famous for this. But, it _could_ be coolant. Unlikely, but it could be. I don’t have a lot of experience with this; the only one I was up close and personal with, definitely smelled like coolant, was spewing white smoke and IIRC had a blown head gasket. This wasn’t a Mustang and was several vehicles back. Think 20th century...

They were able to duplicate this amount of smoke and still told me to wait until after my first oil change.

If you still have warranty take it back to have them do an endoscope to see inside the engine. And have them have proof in the report. I went to get mine today, they couldn’t replicate the white smoke, only slight amount of bluish smoke on start up saying it’s normal. I can always take it back anytime so I’m not too worried.

Any update on your car?
Hey sorry, I went to get the car back because they didn’t even looked inside the engine and it was there for 2 days. First they said the bluish smoke was normal. Then the white smoke they couldn’t replicate it so there was no action. So far I’m still driving the car and everything runs fine. Later on after the break in, if I have time I’ll send it in again to have them do endoscope and see if there’s anything in the engine.

@S650sunshine ..... imo they might not be able to replicate white "smoke" as that is water vapor and there needs to be a temperature differential to see that e.g. a cold day. If the "smoke" is bluish - again - imo that is neither normal nor good.

Any updates on this issue? My son has a 2024 GT and it’s been doing this for over a year. It’s random. May go weeks with nothing and then start smoking again on cold start. The weather doesn’t seem to affect it. It has been to the dealership several times and of course they say they can’t duplicate it. We have showed them several videos but they say they need to see it in person.

@MikeE55 ..... that is oil. Blackish is fuel or carbon. Whitish is condensation. That is definitely bluish and is from oil. You are right to investigate.

It definitely has a bluish look to it. I will relay the message to him to get it back to the dealership and hope it does it for them. I will update whenever we can find out anything. Hopefully it will help others having the same issue.
