It's been many years since I dealt with dual voice coil. I used a single VC 18" with a Fosgate amp in my Mustang. I did the work fitting the sub into a round box that goes into the wheel well. Put the amp under my seat. Pounds real nice. The rest of my family has the B&Os. The guy on the site seems to have great experience.
Thank you for your suggestion. However, now I'm finding how to connect between OEM wire and new subwoofer. In future, I'm going to your suggestion. Thank you.

The OEM must've had a dual voice coil set up to begin with, and requires two positives and two negatives. I've as always used bridged amplifiers using a positive from one channel and negative from the other making a mono signal. Usually to one speaker. The 3 dual VCs I wired up were as if they were one single speaker. Was nearly 20 years ago. My windshield developed a single crack that grew across it. But what you have is very handy. It'll add warmth to the music, unless you get bitten by the "Bug". I hope the speaker has good output than the original.

Also I hope better quality than the original, but the 'bug' is killing me.

My first subs were Kraco, or Craco from the old Consumers Distributing. Junk. That Pioneer is a good buy at today's prices. Looks good too.

Finally it was solved. When I volume up to over the mid., subwoofer is start to vibrate.
Test music was tik-tok , OST of interstellar.
Thank u for kind assistance. Thank you.
And from now I will try to replace center speaker.

You really want to hear the sub? Try Sir Mix A Lot "My Testarossa. 95 South "Whoop there it is". And Das EFX "Mic Checka". These songs are made for bigger subs, but sound good on tens too. I'd always test my system with these songs.

So for polyfil, can you fill the sides and only fill behind speaker a little, leaving some airspace?

I just stuffed mine with polyfill and didn't worry about the speaker. I'm thinking may the magnet voice coil would heat up. Fill the sides only would work. If vented box polyfill won't work. I used a vented box once and ended up sealing it off. Plus seal the speaker flange with that grey adhesive foam.

That video must've cost big money to make. Nice cars.

I liked your write up and idea, I went a slightly different route with amp and made use of that otherwise worthless tire inflator. Cut the foam and put a 1,000 watt Pioneer Amp and the LC2i in it. Makes all the difference with the Pioneer subwoofer swap if you are looking for some punchier bass. Have to run power wire tomorrow but was proud of my idea and thought I’d share.

S650 Mustang $79 Subwoofer Upgrade (Pioneer TS-A250D4 10" Sub) - IT SOUNDS GREAT! IMG_3762

I completely misread the 550 thread you talked about. Thought the pins were on the ring, not the mesh grille. Went about it the wrong way, got the first pin to pop without breaking, not so much the following 3 and just said "F'it", yanked the the rest off. A little velcro and that 4 bar cover, I'm good with it. No rattles

I broke all but 2 and wondering where you got the grill, do you have a link?
