So I knew from previous posts, that there are no lights in the cupholders, but last night was the first night, We have taken the car out with it being dark out. My husband went to get something out of the glove box and realized this is the first car we ever have, that we can remember anyway, where it does not have a light inside the glove box, and then, when we went to press the garage door opener there’s no light up above either. Has anybody else noticed the lighting in this thing really sucks? The only two places I’m seeing they have lights at night, are the door handles and on the foot pedals where I really don’t need to seešŸ˜‚
They pulled the glovebox light sometime after model year 2019, so nothing new. I’ll have to check but I do not think the garage door panel was lit either.

Glovebox light has historically been the #1 cause of dead batteries. If a car had one first thing I did was pull the bulb.

I liked ambient light in my 2021

On the 2024 i found it too bright even on the lowest setting so i turned it off...
Hope they can make a software update to give us more "shades".
It's supposed to be discreet not distracting.

All the years we have had them in the glove box, which we still do,have never had one kill the battery and we have been driving 50+ years. Many times we have had to get things out of there. They have license checks at night, hard to find what you need out of there without a light

I have mine on red and turned way up. I don’t know how it is distracting when hardly anything has the ambient lighting. The Audi had it in the back so people could read at night if they wanted

City driving is likely fine.
But on a totally dark road, it was a bit too bright to my taste.

To each his own i guess.

I just don’t get it why they have ambient lighting on the floor by my feet. šŸ™„

My 2011 GT premium with 401a has no glove box light. Back 1972 my Grand Torino sport had no box light but my fault for not ordering it as it was an option. I don't care if my24 has none.

Well, it’s hard when you have 3 buttons on garage door opener and no lights, and you have to put your hand up there and figure which one it is. I think they didn’t think all this stuff out too well, and the not having one in cup holders.
Had to have been a man doing all the thinking. 😊

Not defending Ford here for cutting corners but maybe the lights in the cup holders might reflect up into the windshield.šŸ¤”
