Any idea where this plastic cap is from?

Just found this on the floor. Pretty sure it fell out of somewhere, but I can't find anything similar anywhere in the car... is it even from the car or something else? thanks!

Both mats are fine. I found it under my seat...

I found one also in my GT, I believe it’s a leather fastener from the seat underneath. It was an extra one left there.

Looks more like a carpet fastener - look up under the footwell to see if there is a stud with no fastener

found it! I have a feeling they didn't put it on properly at all. I pushed it in and I can't pull it off now.

I wound up taking gorilla glue and re-attaching it again. It got loose since October. It doesn't want to stay in place at all. It's as frustrating as those old plastic tabs for the trunk in in my '07 that got loose all the time, until I glued them in place.

They are effectively single use and once damaged they tend to keep falling off

Yeah. Imagine being the genius who designed it. Being all proud of that amazing design? Why not just have a screw? Like a plastic screw. But noooo. lol.

From or where? The history of the material or approximated proper location for identified item? . Could be extra part thanks to the factory or a bolt head cover. Mystery plastic piece in the floor is more comforting than a spring.
