That’s why I paused ordering one ..I knew the premium version was different when it came to the wiring vs the base model they used on their advertisement
their PR car is a premium

the year is 3024 most of civilization has been wiped out by nuclear fallout and I haven’t gotten my grille issue fixed by @RTR Vehicles but I’m still holding on to hope little by little day by day….
I started the return process on mine today. They gave me a RMA but no shipping label. I requested a shipping label because I feel this falls under their defective category, therefore I shouldn’t have to pay shipping to send it back. If and when they find a fix I will probably purchase it then. It’s still in the box, only opened to check for shipping damage.

This is definitely getting frustrating. Over a month and still no resolution other than they’re aware of the issue. The grille also wasn’t released when the other rtr products got released. The grille was released weeks after the other rtr products. I wonder what they were running into hmmm. I wouldn’t have bought this knowing this issue. I’ve even debated switching back to my old grille. Come on @RTR Vehicles any update or some type of compensation? $650 for something not working correctly and affecting other OEM features of the vehicle. Are you guys going to be sending out new light units with upgraded wiring or something? We’re limited with options as there’s nothing else we can plug the rtr harnesses into. If we need to tap into any other factory wiring u can put in a Return ticket for me because I won’t be doing that since this is supposed to be plug and play. But I’m just assuming the worst right now. Hoping for something ASAP

I feel for you guys that already have it installed, what will that return policy look like? Mine isn't installed and still in the box and I haven't heard back from them regarding a shipping label. I'm going to call them tomorrow and press the defective item aspect regarding their return policy. They know there is an issue, they should pay for return shipping. This will end up costing them a lot of money, so they've probably spent the last three weeks trying to figure out how to weasel themselves out of this situation. If their "team" of engineers can't get this remedied in three weeks I wouldn't call them engineers.

im gonna throw some water on this fire and just say yall need to calm down here, this issue was found by us over the holiday season when nobody was working so they've only had at MOST 3 weeks to look into the issue. they said on WEDNESDAY they had discovered what the issue was. i hate to tell you this but it takes more than 3 days to fix an issue, especially if we're talking about an issue that may require a change in part design. I suggest yall just hop offline and check back in around February.

As for the refund bit, if you have it installed its more of a hassle to take it out and ship it back than it is to go into settings and just turning off the factory DRLs, the RTR lights still stay on.

Curious as to why it’s taking their team of engineers so long to resolve the issue.
I have been down that path. They may need to produce a different circuit board or make other changes that could take a few weeks from start to finish. We were lucky that most of the time it was software and if it was hardware, we could cut traces and/or add a few wires to resolve the problem. Other times we needed to reprogram programable logic which required shipping boards or a visit to the customer site. You try to make a fix that impacts the customer as little as possible but sometimes there is no other option.
And then there is the unexpected. One failure, I had a pretty good idea where the problem was so we got the scope out to prove it and the scope had died. The repair was as much as a new one so we couldn't do anything until they shipped out another scope. Long story short, I was right and the problem was fixed by reprogramming some of that programmable logic.
They know the problem exist and if they don't fix it fast, they can't ship because they will have to fix it on anything they have shipped and anything they ship from now until they figure out the fix. There is a lot of pressure when you know sales depend on getting the fix out as soon as possible. Worst one for me was a half million dollar sale to you guessed it, Ford. We had the fix out and in the customers unit within hours but it was a stressful day.

Glad they figured it out, just hoping the fix doesn’t invoke removing the bumper again but if it does then O’well.

I really wanted to get one! I was going to ask my dealer if they would put it on.

Now I will be checking this thread to see what’s happening. Sorry you all have to go through this. Does another vendor have something similar or is this it?
