I have only ever owned one mustang that was an automatic which was my first one. The other 4 were all manuals 😎

My wife balked at the thought of an automatic in my mustang lol. In every one I have had it was stick.

“Automatic mustang…will you even like that?”

She knows me so well.
My wife said the same thing !

Part of me wants to wonder what it would be like if the EcoBoost ended up getting a CVT as the standard transmission and then they asked 1.5-2K for either the 10A or the 6M. 😝

That doesn't make any sense, CVTs aren't built for torque.

Valid point. I was just thinking out loud, seeing how a lot of cars have CVTs as their standard transmission, with some sporty/sports cars offering CVTs as an optional transmission alongside a manual. What if Ford had gone down the same route with the Mustang for the sixth generation? (Thankfully it sounds like Ford, or at least Jim Farley, doesn't want to make commodity products.)

Or alternatively, what if Ford's DCT on the Fiesta/Focus was well built to the point that it could eventually be used on Mustang instead of ending up massively recalled? (From my limited understanding, please correct me if I'm wrong.)

I think the disaster of a recall is the inevitable result of trying to build commodity transmissions. If we didn't have Farley at the helm, and corporate suits tried to make a "cheap" Ecoboost, it would end with unreliable cars and damaged public perception.

The 6MT was only dropped from the Ecoboost because 99% of manual buyers opted for the GT.

OK, that is one. But have you seen the new one's? No thanks. Not into tuner cars since I sold my SRT4 ten years ago.

I'm in the 26% group. So thankful I can still buy a vehicle that I can drive and it doesn't drive me.
The 6speed has all the the same tech as the auto.
Someone said they had sign recognition with auto but 3 pedels has it also. Just saying

When I started thinking about ordering mine, the girlfriend said she'd swap me her Bronco for the Mustang when she wanted to drive it (she doesn't know how to drive a manual). Ordered a manual 2 days later, 😁.

Proud to be in the 27th percentile!!!!

Those numbers are always so misleading though. It's kind of like how every year they say "once again this year silver was the most popular color for vehicles in the U.S.". No, that's not true at all. It's just that the automakers BUILT more silver cars.

If EVERY Mustang sale was a special order, then and only then would the stick shift to auto ratio numbers be believable.

I've had 5 Mustangs. 3 with stick, 2 with auto. If buying a new one today it would be 10A without even thinking about it.
