The B&O system is the weakest sounding 900-watt system I have ever heard. I hate when auto manufacturers advertise THX, B&O, Bose, etc sound systems....that is an instant red flag it sounds like poop. Hyundai with H&K is an exception.....so why can't anyone else pull this off?

Anyway, as previously mentioned, changing the sub out doesn't really make it louder....it just sounds better. It looks like all the S650 speakers, connecters and layouts are the same as the S550 from what I can tell. I am still researching it as when I order the stuff, I do not want to have to return and re-order stuff nor do I want to pull panels apart to have to put them back together to take them back apart when the correct items show up. I am getting older, cranky and less patient for this sort of thing.

I love my S650, but I hate that pretty much all manufacturers integrate the stereo the way they do.....and you only get Bass, Mid and Treble for EQ settings. I wish they would go back to separating the stereo from the rest to give us the option of swapping it out. It won't happen due to cost and design, but I can dream.

Turn up your hearing aid and you will be fine! If you want louder than the B&O you will soon be deaf. Most oem systems are limited to safe listening levels of around 90db or less. More than this for prolonged periods will result in hearing damage

Hearing damage part might be true but the loudness part is not true at all.

To the OP, the system is garbage

This is my 5th Mustang and the stock B&O system is the best from the factory yet. Is is perfect, of course not. The highs are a bit muddled for my ear and the bass is/was weak.
I swapped the sub for a Rock/Fos P3. It took a bit of work to seal it up properly, but my audio guy knows what he's doing. The sound was definitely improved after just this change.
I listen to an iPod Touch with my 3500+ song library, hard wired via USB-C relocated into my center console so it locks when I lock the car.
Mostly 70's-2000's Rock and New Wave, Blues, and Country.
I find defeating the midrange to just below 50%, boosting the Bass and Treble to just below max and then selecting Surround with it faded just behind the headrests fills my cabin just right.
Most of the time, volume is set to 12-15 unless the top is down and I'm going 80. I run in quiet mode here in the country club, but normal otherwise
Audio is so subjective. Everyone's ear is different. I like crisp highs and good bass, but don't want to rattle the license plate.
This is CA, so it might help that pot is legal here, just saying.

It is not garbage. More extreme OTT comments. Of course it can be improved. If you want garbage try a 911 with the standard system. Transistor radio with the batteries going flat

It’s great quality on par with Bose nothing crazy but very clear plenty loud with adequate bass can’t ask for more imo for a 2 door sports car

I agree.
My 2024 GT, 401-A B&O 12 speaks are very clean & crisp.
The Soung Quality depends on the Source you are using.
I’m not one of those who wants the BASS to rattle the window or the Vehicle 🚗 next to me.
I usually listen to the 60’s & 70 Rock Bands.
I have a lot of Music I have recorded and use the Car đźš™ Playlist.
music, sound quality is very Subjective.

My ipod does not work with the USB port in the lower center section. Should it?

I didn't upgrade to the 12 speaker, b/c 9 is plenty enough imo, and also for the fact the interface and items required to keep factory capabilities/controls is about $500 if I were to upgrade them adding another amp. Maybe I can track down some that match the ohms/rms watts close to the factory and swap them.
On the Mustang I test drove I cut up the radio to half volume and it sounded just fine to me. I know the materials are cheap, but still it was good enough.

I'll be adding 2 Kicker L7's in a ported enclosure for bass, but I believe higher pitched frequencies are more dangerous to one's hearing so I don't always feel the need to update the speakers or have them blasting too much treble or mids.

I know in my truck some usb ports are charge only and others for usbs with music. Don't like being limited to just one USB port, and wonder if theres an adapter to plug in that would expand that one port to 3, so it doesn't get worn out by repeated use.

Im hoping that we can get some more info on it.
No one has talked about the sound system, and the only clip we got was someone playing shakira? with the convertible top open lol.
The B&O sound system will depend on your source.
The B&o System is really good for music. 🎵
If you require heavy, Bass, that doesn’t make any sense to a senior citizens,
then you need to install your own base.
The B&O speakers are very clean, like I said, depended on your source.
many on this form will disagree and say it’s lousy and no good, which is very subject.
i’ve gone through the changing speakers route on the F1 50s and only seems like you lose money because you trade your F150 in and you leave the speakers in the 🛻.
Doesn’t really make any sense to me anymore.
I was artillery in Vietnam, so I wear hearing aids. They work for me.
I test drove a Dodge charger or Challenger with a hemi and it had a Harmon Cardin 18 speakers, that was the best sound system I’ve ever heard of any vehicle ever.

I really like the B&O system, it's much better than the Beats Audio in my last car.
Mind you, I am listening with quite old ears.
Wireless connectivity is a world better than my last car too. It actually stays connected all the time.
I broke the habit of a lifetime and let my wife set up the EQ. Don't tell her, but it sounds much better since.

Scenario #1: I disconnect the stock sub and use the speaker wires from the stock amp to a LOC then to a separate amp to drive a separate sub.

Scenario #2 ? Recommendations?

(btw I own a convertible.)

Got two S550's 2021Gt and 19 Bullitt B&O stereo is shit. My Stingers H&K system is night and day better. Volume 30 is just above medium on Mustang. No audiophile but it has a muddled sound.

I can agree with you on this. My stinger had a better sound system than my stang. I honestly need to get the dealer to fix the speaker in the driver’s door. Its rattling and sounds bad if there is a song with any bass.
