Is there any way to block the Line Lock function or maybe more functions like the rev limiter?

I'm going to drop my vehicle off for some ceramic coating and I have trust issues with people. Don't want any of these things being used on my car while I'm not there.

Program the extra key set which can limit speed and a bunch of other stuff. As I recall, it is called Valet in the manual.

Oh! And make sure you tell them it is not to leave the premise, and right it on the work order too. Then, if they violate your request, you'll have an easier time in court if it went that far.

on the SYNC screen, go to settings, then look for "Valet Mode". this will make it so that in order to access anything on the touchscreen, a 4-digit PIN will be required. unfortunately, i dont think there is a way to prevent them from brute-forcing the PIN, but thats still 10,000 possible combinations they would need to try. the feature persists through key cycles. it blocks access to everything but the AC controlls, and locks the center console if you have that

I read that valet mode also disables the trunk so that they can acces it. Can a detailer use the excuse to have the trunk unlocked for him to ceramic coat the car?

i dont do PPF either normally. but i did get some on the front of my Mustang. from my research, if you can only chose one or the other, PPF is the better option. it provides actual protection from things like rock chips. ceramic coat just makes the vehicle easier to clean, but most companies recommend re-applying it once per year

My ceramic guy had the trunk open to properly coat the top of the bumper on my '24 Eco that is covered by the pony panel on the bottom of the trunk lid.

Thanks. I guess I'm going to use the MyKey feature to disable some functions and give him the spare key and leave the admin key myself.
