Did a little road trip for a couple of days, and collecting a chipped screen as a memento.
I bloody hate the condition of our roads and the way the Roading Authorities use drivers as road rollers on new seal.
It does look repairable though. I'm getting a windscreen guy to do it on Monday.

I feel your pain. I hate chip-and-seal! Seal the roads! Chip the windshields!

Chip & seal is bad enough; can’t imagine it being water based. Terrible.
It gets worse. Most of our roads are chip seal, about 10 - 15 years ago they got all eco friendly and started using a water based seal emulsion, now the roads melt at 25 C.

Try living in Phoenix. It's not uncommon to have your windshield replaced once a year.

Stone chips or other projectiles?😳
Stone. We have a lot of gravel as landscaping. The small pieces get caught in tire treads and get flung out on the highway. That's also why PPF is a must here.

Not quite, it's the heated liquid tar they spray before laying the chip. Contractors like it because it's cheap.
Got it..............TY!

I've got pebbles instead of lawn here, but the driveway is concrete. Much safer.

Oh all our driveways are paved. I was referring to the rock landscaping along all the highways, streets, and yards.

@LouG grass here would be dead in one summer with 115° F. Using granite rock prevents dust. God forbid we ever get a tornado the rock flying would shred everything. Full glass coverage is a must here as well as PPF.
