Burning smell when using heat

When i turn on the heat i get a nasty burning smell. Any idea what that could be?? Car is going in for some warranty work so just wandering if I need to add that to the list. I also have a rattling sound around the front middle or passenger side when going over bumps, anyone ever figure out what that is and how it can be fixed? Want to get everything knocked out in one go, as this is my daily driver
