Has anyone replaced their cabin air filter? It is behind the glove box, which is easy to remove. There is a screw that holds the access door closed. I expected it to be a Phillips head screw, but it is not. My eyes are not what they used to be, but it appears to be a hex screw, but I could not find a size to fit.

Does anyone know what tool, and size, is required to remove that screw so that the filter can be replaced? I will probably replace it with a Phillips, or possibly a thumbscrew if I can find one of a suitable size.

On my F150, it is a couple of snap clips... easy. Why make it so hard?

Thanks in advance for any help.

It is a torx T20 screw. And once you remove the cover you will find the filter a PITA also.

I did mine for the first time last month. I cannot imagine how it could have been made more difficult. You have to get on the floor board to access it. Good luck matching the clips on the cover up to get it back on.
