Convertible top material on 2024 GT Premium?

Does anyone know what material is used for the convertible top? I know it is different than what is used on the Shelby. I want to make sure I use the right protectorate on it

What is Mustang convertible top made of?


Our Mustang convertible tops are made with premium sailcloth vinyl, an original topping material for many Mustang models. This textured vinyl is a two-ply composite with an outer layer made of PVC sailcloth grain and a polyester/cotton fabric lining.

Raggtop makes a good cleaner and protector. That have a product for vinyl and sailcloth.

Try 303 fabric protector/water repellent. Or go to West Marine and buy their canvas waterproofer.

I have used both. They work well, but I lean towards the 303 product..

@Zig ..... have owned 5 convertibles. Two Mustangs, a 2014 and a 2024 GT Premium. I use Autoglym a British product that has been available at auto detail stores and on Amazon - just enter Autoglym Convertible Top Cleaner and conditioner into the search bar. This product will clean and renew your top's water proofing properties and is VERY easy to use. I am not a fan of 303. I use it on canvass boat mooring covers and while it is a great water proofer I find it makes the canvass too hard. I would not use it on my Mustang. I recommend using Autoglym and just follow the directions. It even restored a friend's older top to a newer look.
