On my 2018 GT I had corsa extremes and it was incredible. I’m now in this s650 with a completely different living and work situation. Working shift work on my days I leave around 3:30am which is my only concern. Finding myself in a townhome with neighbors 20 yards from my home to theirs. I’m having a hard time getting an exhaust picked out. Part of me says send it and get the extremes again. The other side says be sensible and get corsa sport or awe touring. I need opinions if you have them. Before you say you should have got the active system I already know. But this GT was a steal and in my favorite color.

I put an MBRP Street catback on mine. Sounds really good. Its cheaper than the other options but if you do the quad option, just cut your valance.

In my opinion, if you’re set on an exhaust upgrade with non active just get the one that sounds the best to you because they’re all going to be loud at start up. I’ve had a Corsa extreme, S type and AWE touring on my 2018 and back to Crosa Extreme on my 24. You can creep out of a neighborhood fine with any if you keep the rpms low, but especially without valves the starts will be unavoidable. So personally I don’t think the volume matters outside of “be courteous and leave stock” or “install any catback and send it”.

So in your opinion neither of the three are louder than the other at startup?

The Corsa Extreme is going to be slightly louder, but not by much compared to the Sport. My buddy at work has a 24 with sports and next to my extremes the start up is almost the same. Quiets down a tiny bit more at idle. And the AWE calls itself the touring but I’d put it at a “Sport” level of sounds. Amazing tone, but not as quiet as what you might think being labeled as “touring” would be.

Just for reference purposes. What’s your favorite between the two? Sports or extremes?

I’m team extreme all the way. Just sounds so good. Loved it on my s550 and the s650 is no different. It’s amazing how loud it can get and then how quiet it can be when you’re just cruising.

I take it you have the x pipe? I had the x on my 18 I was looking at the h for my 24 but I don’t know if I can make the switch.

Yeah I have the X. My buddy with the sports has the H and he had his before I bought mine. It sounds a little deeper at idle but to me it didn’t sound different enough for me to go that route. Could have a little more effect on the Extreme but I kind of doubt it would be much.

Thanks for the quick replies and sharing your opinion man. I really appreciate it.

I went with just Roush axle back. They sound great. The highest DB I’ve seen is just over 95 on a cold start, which is the “drive by” spec. Didn’t want to do x or h pipe as it looks like they don’t add much power in the s650 (there’s a Steeda video floating around that did a comparison vs. a s550), but they sure add a lot of noise. The stock resonator isn’t restrictive, they’re basically straight pipes with holes and resonance chambers, they just don’t have crossover and scavenging capability. Also, did the black dual tip and they look stealthy with the dark matter grey paint. You could do the quad tip if you want that look but you’ll need to modify or replace the rear valence. I was also thinking about Borla 49 or 50 state legal axle backs.

I have been all over the place. That’s not a bad db. Why did you choose only an axle back?

Wanted to improve performance and sound, but didn’t want excessive noise. I was going to buy a resonated X pipe, but the one I want isn’t made anymore. While I found one used on OfferUp, I happened to see the Steeda video on how h or x doesn’t improve performance that much on a s650 compared to a S550.
