Not bad, though just for me coupe vs convert is a game changer. Not sure how set you are on interior color, Oh, BTW I had mine shipped in cross country enclosed carrier Plycar for $1250

What platform are you searching on? I can only go out 100mi with the Ford site. The others are really hit or miss on new vehicles.

like I said, same driver, same track, same hour.

More weight and more wiggle doesn’t equate to greater performance.

you run ‘em both and the coupe wins.
“ We handed three versions of the Mustang to our testing team: an EcoBoost, a GT with a six-speed manual transmission, and a GT with the 10-speed automatic. All of the Mustangs were equipped with the Performance package. The EcoBoost hit 60 mph in a sporty 5.6 seconds, the six-speed GT flew by in 4.8 seconds, and the automatic-equipped GT was even quicker, doing the deed in 4.3 seconds. Speeds through the quarter mile were also in the same order — the EcoBoost reached 94.2 mph while the manual-equipped GT hit 111.6 mph and the automatic-equipped GT hit 113.1 mph. “

^average joe (mag) gets the same time as the other average mag in a vert? Acknowledged, not same day same blah but doesn’t look to be so much of a diff that driver may not surprise if not paying attention.

Central KY guy here. My experience has been that a convertible is a complete waste of time in this part of the country. I've had a convertible Mustang and several Jeeps. All of them had the tops up 98% of the time.
Have lived in KY, round 2, for over 30 years and have had 2 Mustang Verts. I would agree, if you don't plan on driving with top down, then a Vert is a waste. We've never wasted our Verts, top down pretty much every time it's taken out.

I once owned a 98 Cobra convertible. My ex wife wanted a convertible Mustang and that's what they had. Loved that car but rarely put the top down. Just not a big fan of roasting in the sun, plus I think they look better with the top up. To me you can't beat the look of a Mustang coupe!!! I've always thought a convertible is best suited for warm states where you could have the top down in the evening or night. Not the heat of the day!!!

If you’re going to run your Mustang on the track stay with the coupe. However I believe it would be about 1% of us will ever track our cars! If you’re on the fence about your choices go demo both a coupe and convertible and see which one makes you smile more!! Personally I love my Mustang convertible, although this week temperatures are over 100 degrees so the top is up until sundown!

Agree 100% with the sunburn issue. I'm a ginger and I burn just walking to the mailbox to pick up the mail. Suntan lotion is a way of life for me. One tip, don't EVER get suntan lotion on leather or possibly cloth seats. It's very difficult to remove. Also depending upon location and weather, plan on a top replacement around 10 years or so and it's very expensive. Usually the rear window glass separates from the top and begins to leak. Also make sure to never, ever open or close a top when it's wet or extremely cold out. You run the risk of it tearing. I would suggest renting a Hertz vert for a couple of days and see if it's for you. I was hooked. Your mileage may vary.

I like small convertibles like a S2000 or Miat
Personally, I've never been a big fan of convertibles (any car). I just like the smoother, cleaner look of the coupes. Handling: They are slightly less structurally solid (there's no roof to provide extra stabilization). Sounds: Yes, probably a little louder, but that could be good or bad depending upon what you like to hear (e.g., exhaust).
I largely agree with this. But I do like and would love to have a small convertible like S2000s and Miatas. I wouldn't want a Mustang or Vette convertible.

I like that idea. I have been thinking about a Miata, s2000 or Mr2 in a manual for fun Sunday driver.
Maybe I will pick one up while waiting for my coupe build!

I have a 2020 GT convertible. Just a regular GT, A10/3.15s. It very well may be the fastest Mustang in a straight line I have. That’s subjective of course and based entirely on the butt Chrondeks, but it ain’t slow. I’ve come to believe that there may be a larger power variance in these Coyotes than we are led to believe. This is a good one. Maybe it’s how I broke it in. Handles great too, even with P Zeros but mine has the black package with a little extra wheel and tire.

Only 4500 miles but it has never once left the garage with the top up and never will. That’s why we own it in the first place.

It subjects the passengers to the least amount of wind buffeting and wind noise of any open car I’ve ever driven.

The top mechanism itself is so quiet and smooth that it cannot be heard going up and down.

The exhaust sound however is sublime! Always roll AVE in track mode, period. No discussion.

One last thing: never, ever roll up so much as one window with the top down, much less all four. The dork police will pull you over and possibly confiscate your vehicle.

Long Island, NY here. Got the vehicle in Feb. March was mild so the top is down almost every day so far. Convertible anytime, any day!

Never ever? Apologies officer, while standing provides peace pipe puff protection (would you please put some glass in that cross-breeze).

HaHa!
I thought just the rear windows up was worse! "Straight to jail!"

Seriously this thread is actually making it harder to decide.
I had a 69 wildcat convertible in my 20s and all the noise and wind issues seem to be far better than those old verts.

I ordered a Coupe GT premium, PP 401a, Active exhaust, magneride and automatic. 90 days later and no vin I'm getting antsy!

After searching I found a Convertible with the same spec as I ordered. It's a few hours away.

So anyone that's driven both.
Is the Convertible a lot louder inside?
Especially wind noise on the highway.
Is the handling noticeably different?

Thanks for any thoughts!
I ordered my ragtop the day the books opened o/a 27 Mar 24 and picked it up the first week of Sep. Put everything on you listed with the exception of the magnetite. Live in MA, broke it in on a drive to NC. Experienced pouring rain, no leaks. Hot temps, A/C-insulation, no problems. Beyond highway speeds (NFI) with top up or down, good aerodynamics, no problem listening to music or too much wind. Top up, no problem with wind noise. I’m sure not as structurally firm as a coupe, but they did put a brace behind the back seat so I couldn’t knock down the wall to expand
The trunk when needed. I would only buy a convertible, only if you wanted a convertible.
