Hello all, hope everyone is doing well.

1st post and unfortunately it has to be negative.

I purchased a Dark Horse Premium for close to 90 in cash about a week ago. Saved for years for a dream car and this was it.

Upon getting it home (48 miles on her) she was a quart low on oil. Went to a local dealer they couldn't even tell me if if it full or synthetic blend.

Went with the blend to get back within specs.

I wrote it off to it's a high performance motor breaking in. No big deal

Yesterday on the freeway. And I've babied her mind you, check engine light comes on. Not ok

Performance drops and I can tell a cylinder on the right bank is misfiring. Absolutely ridiculous to spend that amount of money on a vehicle and having it do this. I have only filled with premium fuel and have followed the manual to a T.

Fords quality control has gone to s***

I had a 2011 coyote that never had any problems.

I'm pissed I dropped that much cash now to have her towed and some 19 year old kid have to diagnose, change coil packs, or rip the heads off. Then test drive her and go as fast as he can.

So here's my questions for yall

Do any of you have any contacts at Ford that you think would be beneficial to speak with?

Appreciate your time.

Not Ok Ford, not ok.

It's annoying, maddening even however these things DO happen when you scale things out; yours could be 1 in 10000 vehicles that just had an issue. However, how Ford steps up and deals with it is what matters. Check your state lemon laws and then notify your sales agent you will be having the car towed to Ford to discuss options.

Ford is having serious quality control issues- just read their 2nd quarter report- allocating big sums of $$ to warranty claims.
I was tracking that as well; I had some spare capital in my investment account that I was thinking of putting into a brand that I drive. Some of the articles that took a deep dive into the posting changed my mind.

@MCS has pretty much nailed it. It’s terr that this happened but don’t let this sour the whole experience. Give them a chance to make this right. I’d get Ford CS involved now, as it will likely be a couple weeks minimum

It could be something simple causing the oil issue, Raptors had a batch of bad valve covers causing excessive consumption and the Ford ECU strategy is very aggressive at imposing limp him mode to keep the engine alive.

let’s hope it’s something simple

I appreciate y'all's response.

Hard as Men to not be super frustrated with stuff like this, but I'll take your advice and get on it.

Would Ford CS be a corporate number or do you think it's best to start with dealership?

I'll keep updates coming as I speak with em.

Let's see how Ford handles this.
Fingers crossed but it kinda did kill the experience. Chin up

I know man, right? Dealer markup. Had the money and once I drove her I was absolutely in love. Would be totally ok with it.....if it actually worked.

Every 6 speed rwd is going going gone. I wanted new so I pulled the trigger

I went so hard because I wanted forged internals to put a Whipple on and not have problems down the road.

I don’t mean this to come off as rude, it’s not intentional

that said, m/t dark horses are out there and can be had with MSRP - maybe better.

shop harder. When one of us gives in and pays the Dark Horse Tax ADM, we make it that much harder for everyone else.

Agreed, I was talking overall investment. I should have specified.

(Insurance, accessories already purchased, weather mats, car cover, ordered 305s for the rear, storage unit)

Not MSRP, I should have specified

And you didn't come across as rude.

But I would like to get back to my original questions in the post.

And we can all forget about price?
I liked it, I paid for it.

The reason for my posting was to gain advice and let people know that Ford isn't doing their job.

The last good Ford I had was a 2011 Gt premium

Next was a Raptor that the vacuum hubs failed on for the front wheels. Had to have the Torsien diff replaced at 15k.

I learned how to wrench on Fords. 4 bolt main 5.0 is what I learned on.

Believe me I love the blue oval. But imhp they have just completely lost the ball lately.

Sorry to B*t** boys, I appreciate the input.

So here's my questions

How much damage was done to the motor from about 50 miles of said situation?

I can wrench a tiny bit, but I wouldn't mind a more experienced person to let me know

Do any of you have any contacts at Ford that you think would be beneficial to speak with?

Such as CS reps you have dealt with?

And lastly, do any of you recommend a high end towing company in WA state

Thank y'all very much I hope everyone is doing well

No one will know the answer to any of these questions except for Ford, specifically the dealership you got it from.

Every new car has a something wrong. Thousands of pieces coming from all over the world with no QC at all.
I'd say they will be able to fix it. Make sure to take pics of the exterior and interior.
Just in case the mechanic they have just started its first / last week on the job. 🤣

For piece of mind, I'd just scan it myself to see the codes and talk to the mechanics with some more information.
