Yes its hear say, but it is coming from quite a reliable source (a Ford official, i won't mention name to maintain his privacy), which tells me Ford is feeding rubbish information to its own staff too.
So exactly who to trust?
But the question is if they have no fix why not release the vehicles after installing an interim update. At least the vehicles will be out and customers can have their cars, they have been waiting for over 22 months and about 3 months sitting at dealerships.
Not sure who is running the show now, but definitely doesn't look like capable of making rational decisions on this issue.
Quite pathetic to be honest, how Ford dealt with this issue. It has a lot of room for debate as i find no logic in them holding the vehicles.
Oh yeah, with you on that one. The customer experience has been absolutely atrocious. šŸ˜”

I don’t think they can release them even if they wanted to as they wouldn’t get AU compliance plates due to the issue.

I feel for ya a major PITA for sure.

That said, does anyone know if the update has been released in US yet.
Negative. I was just in for service on 1 February, and confirm nothing was available and it still shows in FordPass.

So I have a deposit down on a ā€˜24 dark horse…and I’ve been waiting to go get it until the recall was fixed. I see on both ford’s website and NHTSA that the patch is available. Does this mean it’s released in the US finally?

Thanks, I thought so. Ford AU has been feeding us rubbish information, just to get the customers off their back. And when I told them that their is a pattern that has been detected, and they have been caught, they stopped responding to my communication.

None of what FORD is saying is a logical reasoning for not releasing the vehicles:

1) if it is such a critical safety issue, then how come the vehicles impacted by this recall but already delivered, haven't been called back to the dealerships and parked in jail.

if it has started showing up then yes. I was given the new date by Ford AU official as 10th of Feb so it looks like it might be finally happening after a loooooooooong wait.
Still disappointed with how Ford handled this and extremely poor communication with customers, especially in Australia.

I suspect there is a difference between vehicles already in use and those not delivered. I'm not sure whether it is even possible to 'confiscate' a car already in use as Ford would no longer own it. There are situations where you can be told to stop driving a car you own (at risk of invalidating the insurance) but it cannot be confiscated.

Understand however if the issue is that serious and related to safety, any Vehicle manufacturer has to recall the vehicles back to dealerships.
and if it’s not then there is no reason to hold the vehicles. Either way Ford has no-logical reasoning to provide in this situation because they have released the vehicles impacted by recall, while holding the vehicles at dealerships at the same time.
And that is my argument and reason for disappointment.

Sorry that is not the case (at least not in the UK)

The sort of safety recall required to stop driving a vehicle is something like a risk of total brake failure. A sales hold is for any form of recall in the UK, as in a dealer is not allowed to sell a car with an outstanding recall of any sort. I suspect it is the same in other countries too.

The early cars were sold before the recall came into place, hence no hold. The nature of the recall is not a 'stop driving' type recall so delivered cars are fine to drive but a 'stop sell' is in place because of the recall for undelivered cars. If you sold an early car back to a dealer they would not be able to sell the car on because of the 'stop sell' now in place.

Unfortunate for sure but has happened with other cars from other makers.

It was not like that earlier. Ford was penalised by 65 million dollars due to not dealing properly a reverse camera recallls in US.
And as a result they are now subject to being monitored by a third party organisation to make sure they handle these recalls properly.
UK standards might be slightly strict due to European standards.
there have been delivery hold on several other brands of vehicles too here in AU both no other vehicle manufacturer has been as bad in communication or delay in fixing an issue.
The 65 million dollars penalty in US clearly indicates Ford doesn’t take these recalls seriously.
But now they are forced to take it seriously, and the outcome is delivery hold but still no swift action and extremely poor communication.

this makes it even worse when we here on Australia have been waiting for our cars for over 28 months and get a very limited allocation with no option to take a replacement Dark Horse.

I've got a supercharger install booked at a Ford dealership that does these kits so hopefully can get that scheduled during the same 3 day window.

I'm not suggesting Ford are dealing with your problems well, just that a sales hold and cars on the road not being stopped from driving is completely normal, depending on the nature of the recall.

Odd in the UK that we have not had any holds on sales or recalls on cars despite them being made at about the same time. We did have to wait a long time for delivery. My car was made at the end of May and I finally received it at the end of November, and it spent half that time sitting at Flat Rock. The only thing I have found with my car that suffered as a result were the wiper blades which were hopeless and had to be replaced.

The remedy for the Black instrument panel cluster ipc screen is now available. In six months I own the Mustang it happened only once, 10 min after I start my driving. Turning on and off did not fix it. However, after 4 hours it worked fine again. Now I need to find time to make the appointment for updating the screen software at the dealership. This one will not be done remotely.

Thanks that is great news. It definitely gives us a hope that we have an update for our vehicles as well.

Myth confirmed, Jamie!

FordPass now shows the fix is available. I’ve never had the screen go dark though. Hopefully this speeds up delivery for those waiting.

Our Ford pass in Australia still doesn’t show in update available.
I checked multiple times today.
But hopefully it’s not too far for us.
