Track problem help!~
My Dark Horse on the track, when the fuel tank is less than 75%, there will be insufficient fuel supply after turning left at high speed. refer the video.
Has anyone encountered a similar problem? and where is the issue form?
Stock car whit any modified

that light does flash in the first video when your exiting the corner do you have the traction control fully off?
i believe you hold the button for like 10 seconds to fully turn it off
track mode or just pushing it i believe just disables traction control
holding it disables Electronic Stability Control (ESC) or something like that
its hard to make out but i think that is it

looks to be China, where 2024 Mustangs are fitted with DeurOS made by Baidu instead of SYNC 4. plus it says on his profile "Location: China". also i agree, i would love to see my tire temps. its also interesting that despite having an auto, he appears to have launch control

That has happened several times to me even without a turn and at low speeds in my GT.
It nearly got me rear ended by a large truck traveling at high speed as there was no place for me to pull out of the way.
Ford has a problem and it's going to get someone seriously hurt or worse. I don't trust my Mustang anymore.

I live in China, this is Ford's export version of Dark Horse to China

tire temp is a hidden function, adjusted by software similar to forscan

This doesn't sound like a traction control issue, I think it's fuel starvation. I say this, after watching a video about the GTD. The engineer remarked that it had 'special' baffling in the fuel tank to stop fuel starvation during high G cornering. This makes me wonder what, if any, baffling there is in a standard Mustang?

Wouldn’t the fuel show empty if that’s the case?

I wonder about that too. I confess I don't know how Ford measures the fuel level, nor where the fuel sender is mounted. The logical place is in the center of the tank, but that is not always true. Imagine having it close to one side, and if fuel starvation only happen on left turns... You get the picture. I suspect a tank (center-mounted) without baffles could still have fuel starvation without the gauge even wiggling. That issue is decided by the fuel pickup, wherever that is located?

There is another thought too. If the GTD is really a race car with a few parts making it street legal, does it use the same fuel tank? Or, why not a fuel cell? Lots of questions, few answers.

It might drop a little but won't show empty. Fuel senders particularly when used on a digital dash are heavily damped to avoid the effects of cornering / hills on the fuel level reading.
They are also act over a much larger area than the pick up.

I'm also not familiar with the mustangs tank design. But if on a 'track ready' car they are only using a single pump with a single pickup then that would be a fail on there part.

Most performance vehicles will use either dual pumps (my E60 M5 had 2) or multi pickups on one/two pumps to avoid the issue.
One car i owned had a 'saddle tank' where there was essentially two smaller tanks either side of exhaust / prop shaft that were interlinked and had a pump in each side that could each pull from both sides.

Edit quick google it was the M5 that had the saddle tank.

More googleing and it looks like ford have gone the same way, or at least provisioned for it.

Top is E60 M5, bottom is S550

Fire up the logger since we seem to be familiar with ‘hacking’ the machine. 75% is 3/4 tank which would be a real problem if one can’t turn left with less than 3/4 tank. Not aimed at you but more toward op but using your post to elaborate.

Same issue I have been dealing with on the track. If I have full tank of gas, I have no issues. On second session If I have less than 75% fuel I will get power reduction and check engine light after starvation.

I had tons code for misfire and cam shaft sensor. Cleared the codes, filled up gas and the issue goes away.

I'm not sure what to do about the issue. Go tell ford I'm tracking the car and see if they find a fix or just keep it on a full tank of gas always.

I also get fuel starve coming out of a hard left-hand turn if tank is at 50% or so.

Interestingly, I heard that there might be a TSB out for the 6speed that they may get an engine service code when sustaining high engine speeds.

I get fuel starved when less than 25% out at the track too, but that's primarily because it's not computing the MPG's properly, so it shows a disingenuous amount of gas on the gauge when you're actually empty or running on fumes. Just keep her above 50% and you won't have any issues.
