Hey everyone,

We'll be seeing more S650's on Aussie roads soon, as apparently there are many on the Tosca and the Tortugas (mine is on the Tortugas).

I've just been prepping for my delivery (probably January - see story next post), putting together my personal checklist.
Thought I'd share with everyone. All of this is condensed from info on these forums, so I've put links to the sources below.
Also posting this here for folks like myself that rarely venture outside of the Aussie board of this forum.

Exterior inspection:
- Consistent paint colour
- Dents, scratches, peeling, chips, imperfections

- Doors, bonnet, boot, petrol flap, etc all close flush and paint coverage
- Headlights, brakelights, indicators all in good nick (no scratches) and work.
- Wheels - no scratches
- Tyres - correct inflation
- Correct brakes
- Battery fully charged
- Check fluids
- Plates/Plate brackets
- Underbody strakes installed
- Locking wheel nut key and fuel funnel in the boot.

- Suspension shipping spacers/blocks removed (might be DH only?)
* Keep your window sticker and any in car build documents. (If you're lucky and the dealer hasn't chucked them already)

Inside:
- All dash functions work correctly
- Interior lights
- Check consoles and glovebox
- AC works
- Interior trim all good
- Both windows work
- All keys/locks work.
- Check fuses

Operation:
- Out of transport mode
- Turns on
- Fuel gauge works
- No pull to either side
- Drive modes and performance exhaust work.

Tracking Devices...
- Sad state of the world. Check the OBD2 port. Confirm all tracking devices are deactivated and removed, with any affected wiring returned to the factory standard configuration.

Take photos of all defects. Either get written commitment to fix or leave the car there until it's sorted.

On a personal note. (sigh). I'm in a bit of a dilemma.
After all this waiting, it seems I'll be away when mine is delivered. I'm away for three weeks around the time I'm expecting delivery.
I'm not keen on the wife taking care of the delivery checks.
I guess I have to leave it with the dealer until I get back. Not super keen on this either.
I'll ask them if they can keep it inside till I get back. Or even better, inside somewhere not even on the showroom floor.

Don't be alarmed if you see a little smoke from the engine bay and a burning smell in the first 20km's or so.
Yepp!! Happened to me when I took a demo for a little test drive. Burning smell and another driver on the road told me that "my car is on fire" 😏 (must have been a little smoke, there was no fire of course).
But now I know not to panic when mine arrives 😅

Listen for any unusual clicks coming from the rear section when taking off or going in reverse. Sadly my car has to have both rear half shafts replaced. I’ve done under 1000km 🤬
