Who is buying EB Mustangs? No one in Europe or the UK and hardly anybody around the world I would imagine… So then who buys them in North America? Is there any data on that?
in the past, V8 pony cars were the minority. 3 V6 models sold for every 1 V8. Mustang and Camaro had similar ratios. People don't care and just want the looks without the higher cost, insurance, and mileage of the bigger engine.

now, I have heard that Mustang sales are closer to 50/50 the last two years for the EB vs the GT, but most of the 2024's I see are not the 5.0

if you all want to just use 0-60 just get a Model 3
Will smoke Type R, EcoBoost and 99% of the time in stop light encounters will take a Mustang GT also- and Im not even talking the Model 3 Performance which will kill every Mustang ever built to 60

A Civic Type R is a track car - not a drag race car and it will KILL a base model EcoBoost around a track - and the driving experience is superior as well in my opinion

My old GT A10 would have beaten my 350R in a stop light drag race 8 out of 10 times but I still sold it and paid over twice as much for my R - for the same reason Huracan guys prefer the 2WD cars to the 4WD cars even though the 4WD cars are much faster 0-60

My personal focus is on how a car makes me feel vs. just trying to go for the best numbers.....otherwise you can pick up a Model S Plaid used for about 60K and beat 99.9% of everything..... Id rather have a blown GT A10 then the Plaid - not because its faster....but because of the experience.....

What good is a fast 0-60 time if your driving an appliance with no soul........

Got a feeling the next Cobra will be a hybrid. There was much discussion of this with the 2020 car.

the hybrid design will provide the best of both worlds: the instant torque delivery (and possible easy mode AWD without all the extra hardware) in addition to the superior sustained performance of an ICE engine after getting off the line. Combined power for short bursts of acceleration is a thing too. And they don’t even have to make you plug it in.

with the zr1 coming out with 1000+ hp and the Gtd not basing it’s game on acceleration, I think there’s room for this.

the ICE portion will likely need to be turbo booster though. But Ford is an expert on that.

I'd love to see an AWD GT, with or without it being a hybrid. Or if not that, an AWD/hybrid V8 sedan variant option (with or without the Mustang name). I can't imagine it being under or around $50-55K though.

Back on topic, could the Cobra be more GT350 than GT500 as far as handling dynamics go?

I’ve got a feeling the next anything Ford brings out between the DH and the GTD will be a hybrid. It only seems to make sense and would serve to get Mustang fans accustomed to the idea of non-ICE propulsion.

In a way I’m glad because that will eliminate it from me even giving it the most remote consideration. I’ll be relegated to either the best all-ICE Mustang they sell just sitting on what I already have.

With 2025 loaded GT's going for almost 65K you can bet an AWD and/or hybrid will be closer to 100K. I can't imagine they will sell many of those. a couple of thousand if they are lucky.

Ford's CEO has very openly and candidly talked about the exact reasons why Ford's current EVs have lost money, and how all of that has been radically changed for upcoming EVs. Basically it's hiring all the people who know how to make profitable EVs and using better and more cost effective battery tech.

Watch interviews with Jim Farley, he's brilliant. But I won't say much more, as I don't want to get off topic which we seem to be doing. Good God, you mention evs for half a second and people lose their shit.
Yea cut through the marketing bs its a frigging a ev. Its same problems different century. Its failed every time its been tried for the same reasons. People are tired of having a massivly dead end concept forced on them. If there wasnt a huge push by the government to keep beating this dead horse. Pun intended.
